I've been going through a similar issue here as well. If the issue persist even for another hour, I'm packing up the game and returning it. In the event the game is not accepted, I'll just throw it in the shredder. I have no tolerance for companies that can not keep their bearing in terms of customer service. It's not fair to the consumer, and it's unacceptable. There should be an offline mode or some kind of contingency / mitigation service, where the game play goes uninterrupted. Bungie needs to get their act straight.
I don't know how throwing away the game is punishing Bungie. If you want to hurt them, give the game to someone who was going to spend money buying it.
Your role as a moderator enables you immediately ban this user from messaging (bypassing the report queue) if you select a punishment.
