Honestly, radical transparency is something the Bungie higher-ups are not a fan of. They are kind of old school in their way of thinking. Wizard of Oz - pay no attention to turn man behind the curtain - style of communication. I doubt we will ever see Bungie take on an indie developer approach to dialog. All we can really do at this point is quit complaining about what they didn't tell us in the past and calmly express that, at the end of the day, what we really want in the future is more transparency. Bungie is so old school that to them saying "we're looking into it" is being transparent. They don't get that in today's social media culture people view a response like that as being coy or as a brush-off. Then they get confused when people respond angrily.

 • But that's stupid. Bungie don't care. They just want profit. God, grow up.

 • Wow, that is depressing. I do hope they become more transparent looking forward, at least. I don't think it is even just an indie game thing -- Diablo 3 folks seemed pretty active to me even before the leadership changes, and the new team just ramped it up.

 • Don't get me wrong, Bungie does communicate with the community fairly often and in various forms. The issue is that they ALWAYS hold their cards super close to the vest. Basically, they never say more than they absolutely have to. The fact that they are both very guarded and love to use word-play is what drives people crazy. Understanding Bungie is like taking a masters course in speaking "Bungie". It's like a foreign language at times that requires deciphering. You have to do a lot of reading between the lines to get to the heart what they are really telling you.

 • Thanks, this is super great info. Based on what you know, do you think there is hope? Do you think Bungie will be able to adjust course and provide more/better?
