Question. As a titan, do I buy the helm even though I already have the chest? Or do I by truth? I am a disc strength build so the int isn't that great but I don't have a full raid set yet so I would get to 30 just by getting what I need from normal if I buy the helm. I also only have rare heavy weapons, no legendaries or exotics for heavy. Please help with my conundrum.
Thank all of you for the input and advice. I have already gotten another mote of light so I only need 2 more. I'm going to try my luck with the engram first and go from there.

Not sure about helms, but for raids/strikes the crest of alpha Lupi is better than armamentarium. The ability to rez teammates faster and carry more secondary ammo is helpful. I can go at a dead Sprint through a corpse and revive them without having to slow down. I'm not going to argue about crucible as I spend most of my time in strikes and raids but there is a similar version if that chest piece for every class (although for locks I think it's a helm with similar capabilities)

Couple of things to note. 1. The helm engram is not guaranteed to give you a helm for Titans 2. Your decision to buy it depends entirely on whether there are Titan helmets you'd rather use over your current chest piece (which there shouldn't be because Armamentarium is the best Titan exotic armor piece by a landslide). 3. Strength is the least useful stat as far as PvE goes. Int/Disc is far more effective as it allows for more constant flashbangs/wards of dawn depending on your subclass. 4. Truth is a fine weapon to use... until you get Gjallarhorn. Nothing beats Gjallarhorn. You have at least 2 raid ready Titans which means you can get a minimum of 18 coins a week. I see no reason why buying Truth for now should be a problem.

[quote] 2. If you are using the Defender, the Helm of Saint-14 is far more useful. The ability to blind enemies that get too close to you (especially with the "Lightswitch" modifier on) in your bubble can be a lifesaver and makes for easy targets and is extremely beneficial for teammates when you have the ability for your Force Barrier to create an orb for each melee kill while active (since they can't fight back). Gaining more super energy for non-guardian kills means that in the raid, when the flow of enemies is non-stop, you can put up your bubble and generate enough power to put up another one as soon as your first bubble dissipates. As mentioned before, having on the perk that causes orbs to drop from melee kills with Force Barrier active further benefits from increased melee attack speed (more orbs from faster punch). [quote]3. More times you can create more orbs means more times that all of your teammates can use supers which means more orbs for you and your teammates. Lather, rinse, repeat.

Thank you so ich for the insight. I agree I mainly asked for help because I want to be 30 and have been raiding vog multiple times a week for a while and haven't received a single piece of raid armor. I figured if I got the exotic helm all I would need is normal vog gear. So I'm not doing it 4 times a week.

All I know is that you don't buy the truth, it's awful.
-
How is it awful?
-
How is it not? It's an exotic that does about the same amount of damage as the Hezen Vengeance. The tracking on it is decent at best. You would think the Void damage would come in very handy in the hard raid, especially when maxed but nope, a maxed Corrective Measure is much more effective and efficient.

Truth is boss. If you dont have you should get. Tracking and void damage. Massive velocity and blast radius too.

Edited by Misinformant: 11/7/2014 11:23:48 AMWell truth costs coins while the helmet engram only costs motes of light so potentially you could buy both. I'd like to point out that the helmet engram is not guaranteed item for your class. It could decrypt into a warlock helm for example so if your feeling lucky buy it.

Unfortunately I only have 20 motes of light.
-
Well you do have till Sunday to get 3 more, so not all hope is lost.
-
Haha let's hope. But tbh I don't expect much from bungie anymore.

If you cannot believe in the game, believe in yourself guardian.
