I don't think anyone should sink any more $ into Destiny. They should be trying to buy us back with free DLC.
They should be like: "Look guys here is the rest of the game you purchased.. please don't hate"

Edited by ORANGEDRONE: 11/6/2014 6:50:49 PMIt's not about the cost. It's the principle. Sure 20 bucks every couple of months isn't a lot. But, when they short change you on the game and then try to sell you back DLC (standing for downloadable content) that's present on the disc you already paid for. That's shady. That's a shady sales model that needs to get shot down by consumers. A statement against this type of BS needs to be made. Not on the forums but, with our dollars (or lack thereof).
-
No it's not about the money but the fact of the matter is, you're playing the content you paid for. The extra data on the disc is not playable, is incomplete, and you did not pay for it. Nobody short-changed you.
-
I think it's obvious the game skimped on the campaign story-side as well as the PvP side. With only a small handful of maps. They purposely neutered the experience to sell it back to us later. If you are ok with that then tell them it's ok by handing them more of your money. I think it's horse shit and should be discouraged by consumers.
-
every game does this? it takes 100s of hours to make new content. just like a computer you buy. They have slots for upgrades should they they be included in the base price? no you buy it if you want to later on. you get what you pay for i think $60 is worth what we got.

I don't think that's true. If it were obvious that Bungie fraudulently conned millions of players out of their money, this would be an entirely different discussion. I think Bungie just underestimated how quickly players would exhaust all the content.
-
Well, it's good that you gravitate towards giving everyone the benefit of the doubt but....
-
Everyone? No. Bungie? I'd rather give them enough doubt to do some research first and come to my own conclusions than to seek out disgruntled threads like this just to reaffirm an ignorant predisposition to be pissed about it.
-
It's obvious man. But, go do your research and try to limit how arrogant you sound. You're the one blindly defending shit you apparently didn't have an opinion about prior and now have confessed you've done zero research on. So yeah, STFU already. Your making yourself sound dicktarded.
-
Seeing as how hard it is for you to read, I'm not surprised by your stump-dick reply. I didn't come here to spout a bunch of accusations or to rush to Bungie's side like a blind white knight. I'm saying you get to play what you paid for. If you like it, you can pay more money for additional content later. What they actually said was all that extra data on the disc is in anticipation of the DLC, because it sounds like the download and install time would be very long. If you were interested enough to buy the game, then it's not a stretch to think that you might also be interested in the additional content they plan to release. So they put all that extra data on the disc itself, so when the time comes and you want to play more, you'll have it right away. If you don't plan on playing anymore, you don't lose any money on content that wasn't intended for you to play out of the box.
-
We're just saying the same shit over and over. You feel everything is peachy, I feel the game was neutered for more $. I'm sure most would agree to being somewhat taken back by the lack of content in the game at launch. Like, an oh this is it? moment. Better get my wallet out so, I can see the rest of the story, the rest of the multiplayer maps already sitting on my disc.
-
They might have given you the content, but you haven't paid for it yet. Sure, the game is short but so is almost every game published by a major company like Activision or EA. It's just expected now, really. I bought the game expecting good things from Bungie and expecting the worst from Activision. I got met somewhere in the middle, seeing as how I'm still enjoying the game. Sounds like you just let the hype get the better of you.
-
You get what you pay for and so far, you've paid for the playable content. Just because the data is on the disc doesn't mean you paid for it or that you're entitled to it. Think of it this way: There's 80 dollars worth of content on a disc you might have paid around 60 dollars for.
-
Nobody got what they paid for.
