Who -blam!-ing cares it's a video game. $15 for extra content? -blam!- yeah I'll take it. Why complain? Just enjoy what they give you. You can't expect anything from them

Edited by Stubbernaut: 11/6/2014 12:40:15 PMActually, if I pay them $60 and then $15 for a DLC, I'd say it's within my rights to expect $75 worth of content from them, like I would get with Borderlands/Halo 3/Skyrim/Mass Effect 1,2,3/AC series/any game worth its salt.
-
So far you have spent less than a dollar per hour... You definitely got your money's worth out of this game.

$75 worth of CONTENT. Not $75 of time investment. People play Angry Birds for more time than I've played Destiny. LOTS of people. But noone is arguing that Angry Birds is worth $75. You might look at this a different way. But just because I spend time on a game does not mean it's worth a significant amount. Destiny is an empty shell of what it could have been, and a polished turd compared to what I expect from a AAA title. Since these AAA titles are where I derive the value of a $60 I dare you to say I can't look at Destiny, see it has significantly less content than any of the games I listed previously, and deem it worth less than $60. Humoring your time=money perspective, I have about 15 days gametime in BL2, 10 in BL1, 15 in Skyrim and god knows how long spent in Halo 3 matchmaking. That is what $60 represents to me in terms of game time, because that is how much I play videogames. Unless it improves to the standard of these games, I will never put that amount of time into Destiny, it'll burn out by December, and I will NOT have got my money's worth from it.

Your comparing it to enjoyment? If you did not like it why play it for 100+ hours and then complain that you don't like it. Here is a tip so this will never happen to you again. Rent it or return it if you don't like it. Almost all companies offer ways to return used games at full price within set timeframes. Would you have to get burned by a flame for a few hours to figure out that it hurt? Take your hand off the flame or stop complaining.

Edited by Stubbernaut: 11/6/2014 4:02:19 PMDon't get me wrong, I like the raid, PvP is ok and the shooting mechanics are great. I also am addicted to lootgrindy games. But what you don't seem to get about my posts is that I don't think the game is worthless. I think it's worth less than what I paid for it, based both off content value and time value relative to how much content/time value I am used to getting from a AAA title.

Sorry if all that seemed a little more rough than it needed to be. Just tired of all the negative post. While I agree that this game needs a little work, people in general need to stop comparing it to well developed franchises. People compare the content to games like elder scrolls or Mass effect. Those games are sequels to games that at one point had a lot less content. Anyone remember the first COD, Mass Effect, Halo. They were lack luster compared to their current iterations. At the same time, this game is a completely different Beast for Bungie. While they have put out amazing games before, they have never done some of the things they have tried with Destiny. I was not trying to hate on you or be disrespectful to anyone's opinion. I am just trying to ask people to stop being overly negative and start criticizing the game in a productive manner so Bungie can improve in future updates more efficiently.
-
You're alright in my book then, and you're way ahead of the majority of the forums as well. I agree with you that people need to just give constructive criticism, and mine is that they should never pull this cut content crap again. Hopefully if enough people hold them to a high standard then Destiny 2, maybe even the second DLC, will actually give content equal to the industry standard. My frustration just comes from the fact that I know Bungie will improve the game, but it didn't have to start how it has. I It feels like they had a Mass Effect 2 or Skyrim equivalent almost ready to sell, but cut out half the stuff and gave us Halo 1 or Oblivion instead just because they thought they could get away with it.

Edited by USAFxxPhoenix: 11/6/2014 5:14:02 PMThis is just speculation on my part but I think they cut content so they could fill contract obligations. It is pretty obvious that this game had an overhaul at some point. I think they made sacrifices in order to not give up on the project in its entirety. I don't claim to be a game dev. But I know if I put that much work into something, the last thing I would want to do is give it all up and tell my fans sorry. I am not a "sheep" that agrees entirely with the practices of this company. But, I am also not a child who expects everything to work out perfectly. If the game fails, it fails. If it succeeds, then that's good. All I want if for people to open their minds a bit and look at all the evidence and try to make unbiased opinions. Then they should share those opinions in a positive manner. Btw, if your on X1 and ever need a raid group or weekly team. Send me a message. I run raids for newcomers and anyone who needs help. You seem like a nice and understandable person and it would also benefit me to have a Hunter's perspective and skill from time to time. GT is the same as username.

Edited by itsBIGWiLL: 11/6/2014 10:22:38 AMUnfortunately you are a sheep who cannot see the Forest through the Trees. They made overwhelming mistakes with the release of this game and if no lesson is learned (hit in the pocket) you will keep getting the same mediocre excuse of this current "content", they will think it is okay to continue down this current path and this will become the acceptable standard. I mean really, if nothing else don't you want to see the best game they can make? At the end of the day it is a business and a business that does not make money is not a viable business. This is the fact that will force change. (I would like to point out that I sadly already purchased the DLCs on release so cost is not an issue).
-
You are a hypocrite. Telling me I'm a sheep? For what? Being a consumer of a product? Kids like you don't understand how businesses work. If Bungie actually lost vast amount of profits, that wouldn't force change, they would shut their production down, cut the losses and move on to their next product. The only way destiny will improve is if profits keep coming in to pay the developers. You don't know a thing about corporate businesses. Sure, what they did is unfair. Advertising a game that supposedly would be the game to play. One of the greatest games of this generation. And it ended up being not even half of that. Who cares? What good does being negative do? People like you are way too ungrateful. This game is fun and is not like anything I've played before. Sure it could use some improvements but I still enjoy playing it and I couldn't care less about the $75 I spent on it.
