Efficiency is described by a standard in society and is usually in modern day material driven, Effectiveness on the other hand is non qualitative and opinion based this applies to how you feel about video. They are two different things I love video games and will probably play them till the day I die, but its important to know the difference

No effective means it worked, and you got the desired outcome regardless of how you got there Efficiency is the amount of resources used to achieve that goal

Edited by Bullets Bukakke: 11/6/2014 6:15:51 AMWhat is that standard exactly I am an engineer. And efficiency in my field is used to describe how much work you get out if a system compared to amount of work ( energy) you put in We also use it to evaluate the amount of waste that is produced by any given system The point I am trying to make is in common language efficiency can be used to describe the work put in to achieve any desired outcome It really doesnt matter what the oxford definition says. A word means whatever it is commonly used to describe. Thats how language evolves How are you defining effieciency? I have an energy efficient TV. Its only job is to entertain me. But it is efficient at it I think your hung up on some arbitrary definition or conception of what it means
