Here's a correction to your metaphor to put this into perspective: The two men walk into the restaurant, and the first one is named Dave. The owner says "Congrats! Thanks to an anonymous benefactor, everyone named Dave gets a burger for $5!" But the next man is named Lary and the owner says "Sorry! But if your name isn't Dave you won't be allowed to have meat or lettuce with your burger. You'll get access to the meat 1 year from now, but until then you'll have to make due. That 'burger' will still cost you $5, though..." See why people would be pissed off? It doesn't feel like a complete meal, it feels like a rip off. While it might look like Dave is being rewarded for his name, to everyone else it looks like they are being penalized for not having the name Dave. Even with all the content on PS4, it seems like a really small amount of content to ask $20 for. So with even *less* content on the Xbox for the same price, it feels like a rip off. Get it now?

  • I don't get it. The strike was supposed to be included for PS4 at launch anyway it just happened to get finished and released now with the DLC. The strike also has no bearing on the DLC nor is related in anyway to it. So that metaphor doesn't hold up to well

  • People are pissed off for the same reason that anyone gets pissed off about anything: there is the perception that what is going on is unfair. The concern is how small the DLC already is. There will be the new raid, 2 new strikes, and 3 new missions. Without that strike you're asking people to pay full price for 25% less content. Asking Xbox players to pay $5 per mission/strike seems like a rip off by any standard, so the fact that the playstation players get more content (regardless of how small an amount) doesn't sit right with some people. It's not that they're getting pissed off that they can't play a single strike, it's the ethics surrounding DLC and timed exclusives in general. I think a lot of the frustration stems from how small destiny already is. You run out of things to do fast, so the thought of getting even less content in each DLC is making people snap.

  • Their perception is off tho the DLC comes with 1 raid, 3 story missions, 1 strike and 3 crucible maps. New weapons, and armor and a lvl cap increase. I remember when 3 maps for halo was around 10 bucks was it worth it? Sure it was I got months of enjoyment out of it. We are getting 2 times maps as a DLC that normally goes for 10 I think its worth it.

  • Can you honestly say that Destiny's crucible mode holds even a slight candle to Halo's multiplayer? I was enjoying Halo 3s multiplayer for years. I got bored with crucible in 3 weeks... New maps won't change broken gameplay. If you consider the replay value, you're pretty much paying twice the amount for half the content.

  • Meh I enjoy crucible. I enjoy the game. I feel like I have gotten what I paid for. I have over 100 hours and feel like it was a worthwhile purchase.
