This is a general network error. Have you had this issue for a long period of time, have you received any other issues (codes)?

Two questions: 1. If someone follows the suggestions in the link, optimizes their network setup as suggested by Bungie and Xbox Live, spends hours on the phone with XBL support only to come to no conclusion as to why there is no decrease in caterpillar errors, what should happen next? 2. Has anyone found a plausible explanation as to why caterpillar errors started on October 17 for many players, destroying the possibility of play to many who had no errors prior to that date?

1. Well what [i]should[/i] happen, is you are magically reconnected with no issues. 2. There is no posted explanation as to the cause for the increase in errors. There are a hundred reasons as to why specifically you could be having these issues. I would generally assume that the issue was always there, but something was tweaked which amplified the issue. The internet is more complicated than this, but imagine the internet as a freeway and we are all driving on it. Some drivers have been hitting cracks in the road, which now other drivers near those cracks are hitting as well. You are part of the latter group. Cracks can be paved. Just keep trying quick fixes until something works.

I did read that between the lines. Are you playing over wifi? Have you tried hard lining directly to your modem (ignoring the router)? Lastly, I would try a Packet Loss "Ping Test" to see if you're having ISP issues, although it sounds like you've exhausted this

Yea, I covered those with the XBL tech. My 360 has always been hard wired into our gateway, and ping results have come in at 25-28ms. Thanks for taking the time to go through this stuff, btw. I figure the more I can learn, the better!

Gamertag: King Charos. Console: Xbox 360, Digital Download. Region: West USA, Washington. ISP: Comcast. 45Mbps Down 23Mbps Up. Errors: Caterpillar 80%, Hawk 10&, Hare 10%. I can't play since the nerf of the Mythoclast on 10-17. Constant lag out and disconnects from Xbox LIVE every 5 minutes on Destiny. It was like this for the first two weeks of Destiny. I was only able to play for ONE WEEK since Destiny has been launched.
