Hawkmoon.
Let me begin by saying that I have wanted this weapon since the very moment I first saw it. (Sorry in advance to Xbox players. Really.) The sleek design. The glorious color scheme. Thirteen oversized slugs that deliver impact that only be compared to the weapons that are better than it. Which do exist. I acknowledge that. Anyways.
Fast forward to two weeks ago. I finished the Sepiks Prime nightfall with one of my very good friends. You know that moment right before the region text pops up over the rewards you earned from the strike where you see the golden text from an exotic, but you can't quite pin the player that received it? Yeah. Someone got Hawkmoon. Spoiler alert:
Not me.
Fast forward to one week ago. Same friend. We beat the raid with our usual group. I was swimming around in the 67 ascendant shards I got when I saw the kill feed. My friend got Hawkmoon again. Needless to say, I was very upset about my friends luck as he strutted around the arena with his Akimbo Hawkmoons until I remembered that I had to return us to orbit since there's no post screen for the most important part of the game. And that's just fine.
Time Portal ahead to last night. Have you tried Shareplay (if you're on PS4)? It's pretty cool. Watching your friends play in realtime is an interesting experience. It's fascinating to watch someone you so frequently play with from their point of view. But I digress. My friend (who according to my graph of exponential Hawkmoon acquisition had at least 7 or 8 by now) was watching me play a round of Rumble since I was lucky enough to get the Mythoclast and wanted to see how it was in PvP post nerf. This was the first time we had tried Shareplay together and my first Crucible match of the weekend. Please watch the attached video for the results.
The moral of this story is don't give up on your dreams. Also Corrective Measure is amazing in PvP, try that shit out.
