Listen. I love Marvel. I do. I think they're over-doing it a little bit with all these goddamn superhero movies one right after the other, but that won't change the fact that I love the franchise. Having said that... Doesn't it strike anyone else as a little weird that one of the biggest and most well-crafted films of the year is called f[i]u[/i]cking Captain America? Captain America. Go over it in your head. Really let it sink in. Isn't that a stupid name for a character? Now, don't get me wrong. I love Captain America. But it's a monumentally stupid generic name for a character. I urge you to take a moment to appreciate the strange turn of events that has led to characters from these pulp origins with names like Captain America, Iron Man, and Thor the goddamn [i]Norse god[/i] are actually being taken seriously and featured in genuinely well-made films. I'm not complaining... Not at all! I just think it's kind of funny when you think about it.
