I was having horrible issues with Monkey. I then did a combination on three things.
Reset my router
Unplugged xbox for ten minutes
Then when I loaded back up cleared the alternate mac address.
Allowed me to play for several hours last night, finished all bounties, weekly, nightfall, raid without issue.
The issue may be older cached data on the Xbox One that is stored causing issues with the patched data on destiny's servers. So although the clearing if Mac address shouldn't logically fix the issue, I am wondering if the action clears whatever caching issue was there and that's why it anecdotally worked. We may not understand the extent of what that action dies behind the scenes.
Worked for myself and 7 other clan members who were all having issues. If you haven't tried it already I suggest you follow the above 3 steps and give it a whirl.
For the couple of naysayers, if you haven't been able to play for hours and this method to try and fix it takes merely a few minutes,, I I St don't understand that.

Thanks Indiscriminant. I was thinking along the same lines when i cleared the mac address. Some sort of temporary information must have been stored on the Xbox that may have been causing a clash with the new update as it was supposed to help with previous connection problems. Glad you managed to sort it out for yourself. Shame it doesn't seem to work for everyone :(
