  • Hers my understanding of this game. The thought process was to throw you into a world you know little to nothing about. As you discover new areas, enemies etc, you still have zero clue as to what happened when it happened and how it happened. Along with where the hell did these people come from. As the game progresses, through expansions, new areas, new enemies and new information develops. So let's say expansion 1 is Hive based. You will learn more about the hive, where they are from, their purpose etc. the level cap will also increase with each expansion. I know and fully agree this is a shit way to conduct business but that's was activision's call. They control what is and when it is released. The whole idea of the game having content locked on the disc is ludicrous. As your physical copy of the game only houses cut scenes, pre-rendered images such as maps, the proper coding and clearance license to access the servers where the game is actually stored. This is why the areas being glitched into are empty. They are currently being built and uploaded to the servers on a daily basis. People have also wondered where the bulk of the games budget went. The servers. Running servers for anything is costly. Add that to buying, housing and proper maintenance, the money adds up. Most people automatically assume that paying for the DLC is a bit asinine but in all actuality the DLC is nothing more than paying for the constant use of servers. The best way I can describe it is this. Would you rather have paid $60 for a game that was somewhat of a story but in order to access the content pay a $5 monthly subscription service fee, or pay $60 for a game that you can consistently play regardless of what you purchase afterwards and not have to pay said subscription? Yes the lack of planets, the lack of story is a way to entice you to purchase more content on a regular basis. Yes it's an easy cheap way to earn money. Yes it's a terrible thought that we are being exploited for being fans of a studio or just a fan of gaming. But at the end of the day, is that really what's happening?
