The way I see it, Bungie added that shreiker in the summoning pits to deter people from staying back during the fight, but if they completely didn't want us to have that option they would've made a door shut behind us. Using the terrain to your advantage isn't exploiting, it's basic strategy in war.

It is exploiting if it was not intended to be done by the developer. Which is why they add klll volumes or extra enemies that spawn from that area.

Kill volumes block exploits. Extra enemies are a deterrent, so that if you use that strategy you need to adjust and fight hard enemies that spawn often. If they didn't want you there they would block it off, instead they decided it's cheap so made that section harder to be in, still doable but harder.

Edited by Sarogat: 10/26/2014 6:50:26 PMWhy didn't they put a shrieker in the room behind the shrieker room too? Edit: Changed what to why
-
No you are save there. You can even snipe at Pogoth while the Shrieker is on and wizards are in the room as if done right you LoS the Shrieker and the wizards are already passive while you can see a few pixels of Pogoth...

Edited by Sarogat: 10/26/2014 6:50:02 PMI know, but he was talking about the shrieker and mob as punishment for camping that entrance. Punishment would be having shriekers spawn in both rooms.

Ah well they could also close the door... but my random guess is that they left that one open in oder for late comers to be able to enter.

Anyone notice how the Knights in the phogoth battle somehow have the ability to teleport wherever they want? If this is an exploit then a quick fix for Bungie is to extend the range the Knights can go, so they can teleport behind campers and wreck them.
