These are a few things me & most people I've talked to believe should be implemented into Destiny or just general improvements to the game. If any of my suggestions have been mentioned before in other posts, forums, or even in this thread, please know I'm not trying to "steal" anybodies ideas, it just means they are good ideas that we both want :) Constructive criticism is welcome, trolls will be shot on sight though... So let's all have a health adult conversation about what we believe the future of Destiny should look like.
1. Skippable cut scenes would be great.
2. Make anything that Xur sells unique, exotics you can only get from him. No more raid gear being sold by Xur, never ever. Xur's exotic gear should be raid equivalent gear, just never the same stuff you can get from the raid.
3. Redo all the "skill trees". Make it so there's actually a choice between abilities, kinda like how Borderlands skill trees are.
4. Add more vendors at the Tower that cater to pve. Currently the only vendors that sell worth while gear are locked behind reputation. I don't mine having to grind for rep, but more options never hurt. Also their inventories should always be randomized.
5. I've already said this later in the post, make Jupiter a pvp planet. All factions are vying for control of Jupiter. You pick a faction to support, head down to the planet, you'd start in your factions safe base. After you leave the base you walk out into a very large zone where every faction is battling each other. If anyone is reading this & played Elder Scrolls Online, imagine this pvp being something like the pvp in ESO. Gigantic battles would rage across the surface of Jupiter, hundreds of guardians fighting & killing each other 24/7... Sounds very epic to me.
6. Add the Grimoire to the game. There is no reason we should have to leave the game just to read some lore that helps explain WTF is going on w/ the story. Hell the Speaker has a library right behind him so why can't we just go up to those book shelves, press a button, & magically bring up our grimoire stuff? Makes since to me.
7. Bungie please get more creative with your bosses. Stop making them just larger versions of the same smaller enemies we fight all the time.
8. Give us more customization options, for our characters, ships, ghosts, weapons, etc. Shaders are cool & all but it'd be nice to mix & match colors ourselves. Maybe put clan emblems on our armor/ weapons. Just give us more options to make our character stand out from each other more.
9. Bungie, please give us actual audio options! I mean wtf! Destiny is the first game I've played since like 2005 that didn't have audio options! I love my surround sound, I like to adjust the music down to where I can barely hear it in the background, I adjust the ambient & effects volumes down, & max out the dialogue. It's how I've always done it, but in Destiny I can't do any of that, so when it's time for my daughter to go to bed I have to just turn my surround sound off so it doesn't get too loud & keep her up, other games I don't have to do this because I can adjust the sounds in game.
10. Enhance your servers so more than 16 players can be on one server at a time. Destiny just feels incredibly empty. In the tower you can see lots of other guardians but out in the wild not so much (#10 leads to #11).
11. I like the public events, but if random world bosses happened to appear ever so often, it could be amazing. This would only work though if #10 was done.
12. I, like many other people, don't care for mini games, but they do add longevity to games, especially an mmo. Lots of people have asked for Sparrow Racing, which sounds ok... What about Sparrow Tag? Where one person is "it" and 5 other players try to bump into the player that's "it" & whom ever can stay "it" the longest wins, where maybe each round is just 3 minutes long so each match is fast & fun. Rewards would include anything that's not essential, such as ghost shells, shaders, ships, etc. I'd rather have something like this than just regular old racing... but having both would just add more to the game.
13. This one I feel is incredibly important, put raid(s) into playlists, so even if you don't have a clan or enough friends to make a raid group you can still pair up w/ randoms to do the raid. Maybe take page from WoW & make the raid slightly easier or take certain parts out, so even a group of strangers could get through it w/o enough coordination. Make the rewards for completing it in this manor slightly less powerful than the raid done regularly, but still give enough light to level the characters up.
I'm sure I can think of more but these were all things that's been on my mind since like day 1. If I think of more I'll add em. If anyone needs more clarification on anything listed above just ask.

I totally share with what you said

Something else me & all my friends have agreed on is we want a mode that's reminiscent of the Firefight Mode from Halo Reach. This mode would be amazing, give like mini objectives for the group to do during the course of the match. Every 5 levels, players are offered a reward .& the chance to quit. If the players choose to continue on the enemies get harder but there's the opportunity for better rewards. Put no limit on the amount of waves, just make the enemies get a lot harder every 5 waves, & offer better rewards for the longer you play. It's similar to the defense game type in Warframe (my favorite game mode).

Good post, one thing though: you can't walk on Jupiter, its a gas planet.
-
The card for Jupiter says it was inhabited before the collapse, so maybe there's platform city's floating on liquid gases, but you could argue for Jupiter and Saturns moons being playable.

So I guess maybe Bungie is already planning something down the road for it... Maybe... If not there's always my idea of turning it into a big PvP planet with factions waring for total control! Lol

PvP on titan or Europa would be impressive especially if it was a large map not an enclosed one
-
What I picture is something like ESOs PvP. It's a huge open map where 3 factions are at war w/ each other, vying for control of certain spots, buildings, & resources on the map. Each week there's a reset, so you try to take everything for your faction & earn rewards before the pvp map gets reset. So in Destiny I imagine your faction leader giving you a bounty that says "Take over out post A & hold it until our forces can setup a good defense" so in this example it works kinda like the control match type in the crucible. You may have also picked up another bounty that says "kill X number of the opposing faction". That ones simple enough & kinda works like the death match type in the crucible. You then maybe head back turn those bounties in & see more bounties are there, one might say something like "our forces are in need of X amount of so-&-so materials, go to base B that's been taken over by our enemy & recover the materials we require". For every base, resource "mine", outpost, etc that your faction controls, the faction would gain certain benefits while on the pvp planet. Like maybe an extra 10% xp boost, gain extra resources from chests & nodes, earn extra glimmer, or maybe an extra 5% to get better loot drops from chests and killed enemies. I like this style if pvp because it doesn't really feel like traditional pvp. It feels like a part of the games story, you just happen to be killing other players & npcs side by side. It doesn't feel detached from the rest of the game like The Crucible currently does, you know what I mean?

I get what your saying but in reality this does seem like a game in its self not exactly an update. And if it was it really would be the mother and father of all updates, with a lot of problems. Maybe something for destiny 2
-
Oh yeah no doubt, it would have to be an entire xpac by itself. It would be way to big just to be an update & even it was an xpac by itself, a lot of people, mainly those that don't care for pvp, would be upset. I don't do much pvp in Destiny but I loved the pvp from ESO. However, if this were to happen in an xpac there would also need to be pve stuff thrown into it to, something for everyone kinda thing. Think about it though, it would be one hell of an xpac wouldn't it?! Lol
-
It would be awesome, it would be very planetside 2 only without game sized updates and texture tears through the map. XD

Worst part of that game was telling your platoon "sorry gents we can't attack to the east today the map is working for the enemy"
Worst part of that game was telling your platoon "sorry gents we can't attack to the east today the map is working for the enemy"
Lol true but I still enjoyed the hell out of it

Oh it was great, if destiny could create that kind of community in game, it would be awesome, but for that to happen larger games and a better in game chat would have to be added.
Oh it was great, if destiny could create that kind of community in game, it would be awesome, but for that to happen larger games and a better in game chat would have to be added.
My thoughts exactly. Right now the community in game is... well... Kinda no existent, sad to say. They need to bump up the max player count per server from 16 to like 30 or something, the add bigger pve events such as world bosses, then the community starts interacting more with each other & then maybe do this big pvp only planet & structure it kinda like ESOs pvp & man this game would be so much better. The foundation for a better game is there but they have a long way to go before it reaches the "great" status that everyone expects from Bungie.
-
To add to my other statement, the reason I loved pvp in ESO, is it didn't feel like I was even playing pvp. Mainly because there were npcs to kill, a bit of story, gaining ground & demolishing enemy bases, it felt so unlike any pvp I'd ever experienced before that often I forgot I was in pvp. So seeing something like this implemented into Destiny would be amazing

Lol I'm actually having the same conversation with someone else in another post. They made Venus into a jungle planet, Mercury into a giant machine planet, so why can't they make Jupiter livable? Turn the gas into a solid. If not then maybe a very large moon? Maybe like Europa or Titan, something like that may work, as long as it's huge & we can have a full scale planet wide war, sounds good to me lol
-
Id agree with the moon thing and they explain why the other planets have been terraformed. We cant just turn gas into solid lmao and toward the other guy: no it doesnt necessarily have to have a solid core to gravitate to, that isnt how gravity works. It just needs mass to gravitate to, all matter has mass, not just solids.
-
"We can't" turn Jupiter into a solid planet, we also can't revive a dead person that's "been dead for a long time" either can we? Lol. No but this is a game, set in a very distant future in a sifi fantasy universe that just happens to be our own universe. So if the traveler can give us the technology to fly across space at light speed, terraform Venus, & make little robots that can bring beings back from the dead, years after their demise, & apparently give our moon the same gravity as earth, I think making Jupiter into a solid planet isn't that far of a reach lol. Oh & don't forget, Mercury is no longer even a planet it's a giant machine! I think they can pretty much do whatever they want lol

-blam!-ing kids these days lol
-blam!-ing kids these days lol
Kids? I'm 31
-
That was a bit late of a response but that was directed to the kid saying that Jupiter has to have a solid core
-
Doesn't mean there isn't a core of rock or ice. All that gas needs a point in which to gravitate to, or else all that gas has no reason to be floating there in a sphere.

Dude it's a sci-fi future based game where ppl were living to be 300 open your mind up a little
