Open world pvp could turn off a lot of people. Think back to GTA V open world pvp, a lot of people who arent crucible junkies would get sick of getting killed when theyre just farming slme spin metal. The "safe mode" would need to be implemented making you invulnerable. And a timer would be necessary turning it on and off. Also a back story would be required to explain why the heck guardians are suddenly blasting away at each other. I really like the idea of the three factuons fighting over a planet though, that could make for an interesting story. Make it similar to Planetside 2's territorial warfare. Each faction has a starting area, and the three factions vie for control over large areas of one a planet's moons. Save the actual planet for the main story mode. Make the moon have some other strategic value, like the faction with the highest percentage of control gets a unique buff that changes monthly or weekly. Or rotate three buffs between each faction so everyone doesnt switch to their dead orbit cape as soon as they start to win. That or lock the faction you choose on a specific character, not the account as a whole.

I feel, again, I feel this game has been chopped up and dumb downed enough to make it appealing to all age levels. I am not a die-hard PVP-er and I only play PVP for two reasons; an exotic bounty and because my friends make it fun. I don't see PvP adding anything to the game other than as a way to cater to COD fans. Unless killing off Guardians leads to one fulfilling their Destiny, it seems to be a distraction from the fact that the game has been gutted. What I would like to see is gambling, trading, a real economy, some open world exploration, drops directly to my fire team, free areas to interact with NPCs, Sparrow and ship races, the Grimoire in game and anything that shows we are winning the "war" against the Darkness and I will explain this point by point. Gambling: Obviously this was a concept in game, the proof is based in the game. I purchased a class based engram from the Cryptarch, it was a ragged cloak. The description stated that Hunters often lose their cloaks during a bet and it's bad form to replace it immediately. Sure it's only one instance but that discrepancy alone is enough to give one pause. Trading: I've acquired a large collection of items, both rare and legendary, for a Hunter and a Titan while playing as a Warlock, if trading was not meant to be a concept, then my assumption is that we shouldn't be able to "pick up" items that we aren't going to use and aren't allowed to trade. This was meant to be a co-operative game, trading between clans and fire teams should be allowed. Economy: How many of us have capped the glimmer level with nothing to spend it on? An open economy would allow us, enable us the freedom to spend it without feeling like we are wasting it on non-essential items. This goes hand in hand with the concept of gambling and trading, races and customization, also storage since I forgot to mention those things. After a hard run, I'd like to be able indulge in a game of chance, or to buy something that helps me stand out from all the other guardians in the tower. Even having the option to purchase something that keeps my low level character from looking like a reject from the Skittles factory, or to upgrade my sparrow or ship. How about buying more space in the vault, a cabin on the tower or down in that bright jewel of a city beneath the tower. Open world Exploration. Am I the only one tired of invisible walls? Of running into caves or areas that are a waste of code, seeing an area and going "what's that" only to run into the "No, no" zone count down? Direct fire team drops: How many of us have experienced the frustration of busting your butt on a strike, wishing you had help, then the excitement as....so and so joined your fire team, flashes across your screen. How much more awesome would it be to see them drop in, guns blasting at your side or waving to you before you take off for said mission? Or the ability to strategize, with in game proximity chat, before taking off? NPC interaction, in game Grimoire, races and something that shows we are winning the war: I can't be the only one tired of "liberating" the same areas over and over again. There has to be some human, awoken and exos holding out on Earth, the Moon, Venus and Mars. How about an encampment, a group of guerrilla type NPC's that maintain a hold on said areas. Somewhere we can purchase area based weapons, equipment, and upgrades. Down time and waiting lobbies filled with mini-games and activities unique to each planet so that you don't have to return to orbit to start a new strike or patrol on the same planet. There are books on shelves,, computers, maps, archives and "data-pads" scattered throughout the world, give us access to these things. Allow me to pick hints, info, glimpses into the lore. This would allow us in-game access to the Grimoire and the story without having to grab my mobile device for access. This would also allow me to keep up with those elusive bonuses, dead ghost and everything else that I have to keep checking out of the game to figure out. Having said that, PvP should be relegated to the Crucible. I can't be the only player who has experienced killing some "hot shot" in PvP only to have them stalk you for the duration of the match and the next and next? Now imagine that guy or his clan mates being allowed to hunt, stalk or place a bounty on you in PVE, because you forgot to "turn off" the "don't hunt me" button? Imagine stumbling into a "faction war" for the same reason? I don't want a redressed CoD, Battlefield, Halo or Borderlands, I've already played those.

  • Open world pvp would be exclusive to certain zones where you as the player have the choice to enter or not. Wow does this and as a non-pvper I didn't have to worry about it.
