For the sake of the rest of the world that also plays video games on these networks, I think perhaps this idea needs to be reconsidered. Not only do they not all share the same traditions, they don't even share the same seasons.

    That is true, but some times the developers just chose a specific time to launch events. Not to mention, determining on your time zone, there is usually a different server strictly for your time. Now considering the fact that not everyone celebrates the same holidays can just be adjusted so that only the most popular holidays are celebrated. Also no to mention the event doesn't have to be called "Christmas Bash (just an example name)" it could just be called "Winter Storm" or something like that and could start at the beginning of the first winter holiday and end after the last one that way all events are celebrated/considered.
