Reposting from another thread...
Hunters are the most popular class. Based on a recent survey on reddit, hunters are (currently with about 16000 total votes) 1% more popular than warlocks and 9% more popular than Titans. http://surveynuts.com/surveys/admin?id=12568&section=results It makes sense that hunters would have a higher dominance in PvP because their classes are clearly geared in large part for PvP. If hunters control 65 of the top 100 leaderboard positions, that actually shows they aren't overpowered, because 35% of the most successful players are able to be successful without hunters, ie. skill can beat hunters. Overpowered is something skill doesn't beat. Furthermore, hunters have absolutely nothing defensive. PvE aside, defender Titans are clearly "overpowered" for control / iron banner / salvage. Defender Titans absolutely wreck control and there's really no two ways about it. Additionally, the Warlock self-revive is also very useful in the control playlists, and the support provided by spawning orbs for doing damage is tremendously helpful for the entire team. Point being - Warlocks are a support class... admittedly I don't think voidwalker has anything great going for them, but this doesn't make them underpowered by any stretch, and the same goes to striker. I also challenge you to find a point where the gunslinger ability is used this effectively: http://gfycat.com/PerfumedComplexAnemone It may be an outlier in terms of situations, but a gunslinger will never have the opportunity for more than 4 kills (unless you really want to nitpick and act like he's going to get two overpenetration kills while wearing achylophage symbiote, but I doubt that has ever happened)..Gunslinger is not crowd control. It also won't save your life in crunch time, unlike nova blast and fist of havoc. You say that it doesn't require commitment, but I'm pretty sure that statement fails to acknowledge the benefit of a quick one time AOE - that's spree saving. As for blade dancer, it could certainly use a more limited duration. Not even going to fight that one. Regardless, the point of hunters is PvP. I should hope they have at least some advantage in getting kills - if they didn't, what strategic reason would you ever have to use one? Point being, kills aren't everything. Hunters are better at getting kills than other classes, but "kills" is only the most primitive aspect of strategy. Other classes are still perfectly viable and ... competitive. As much as I hate to use that word for the crucible. That's all.
