WoW launched as a full game. The expansions built upon that full game, that's why it's called an expansion. Destiny on the other has not delivered the "cinematic story" that Bungie had been hyping for the past couple years and people don't want to pay for DLC for the next ten years to get what we should have received initially

Nah it wasn't a full game, I won't even touch on dungeons and raids, but when I tried on launch date, doing quests for materials and raiding mc and bwl was fine but I had to wait for 3 months after to be able to pvp in a battleground, not to mention the loads of bugs and exploits that made bosses either impossible or 1-hittable, or things not working at all...but we kept playing because there was nothing better at the time and knew it would improve. If Destiny was released the same time as Wow, Destiny would trump in terms of feature refinement and rate new content is added and hotfixed. Maybe not on launch day content quantity, but there is solid ground to be truly epic in scale.
