I went backwards in terms of scouts. My first was Visions of Confluence from the raid. Before that gun, I would insta-dismantle scouts. Now I can't get enough of them. I find my Atheon's and Suros not being brought out for days, so you could imagine my excitement when news came of the buff.
I'm levelling a new hunter and it's been scouts since day one. Been having fun with some rare ones, but just got my first Centauri. Can't wait to level it!
Edit-
Also, PvP may be difficult if you're just switching over from autos. My first few games were terrible because I was charging in like I had an auto haha. After changing my play style, I get more kills than I ever did before.
Tips for PvP: Don't charge. Hang back behind a teammate who has a closer range gun. You can back them up with your insane scout reach.
If you're on a small map, remember your weapon is a range gun, so have a shotgun or a closer range special to switch to. (If you find yourself in close quarters with a guardian, just hip fire. It still hits them just as hard, but there's a chance of missing the shot)
If you're on a large map, go for full range with your scout and a sniper equipped. Hang around sniper range and take them out with either weapon(Just be aware, if you kill a few people at range and you don't change spots, they WILL come for you)
Scouts are love, scouts are life.

get the mida multi tool and use its agility + movement speed skill on a gunslinger and its like having the max agility a blade dancer has but also passive skills to assist in gun play.
