Of course it's unfinished but Don't worry. Down the road the maps will hopefully open up more and more with the expansions turning it into more of an open world. It wouldn't make sense to give everything away on day one. They still need to write the missions, create cut scenes and attempt to build a story. Destiny's story is lacking now so if we had all these places open without content or context, people would bitch more than they already are.

They also need to remind dinklebot how to act.

My only worry is how many areas there are, and the sheer amount of players able to get in there and explore it. If it was meant to appear as DLC, then shouldn't it do what the name suggests, and be Downloadable Content? I'd understand if Bungie patched it so it would essentially delete them, or even do what it did with the Templar section of the VoG and add a kill Barrier, so that it would seem as an inaccessible area of the game, even if the framework of the new areas were already in place
-
Delete it would be dumb. Its there so dlc isn't super large, and so they don't have to waste time making them later. Common practice in many games. Its still dlc cause you will be downloading code, meshes, sounds, music, and other things general gamers don't know that go into game development.

I didn't mean to have to delete them, I mean sort of do what the enemy spawns do, and have them covered in a 'shroud of darkness', essentially not seeing anything into there, but the area still being there. Sort of like covering up the scene of the crime, almost

I think people would be even more pissed off. Bungies already extremely secretive in their PR business.

Maybe it'll officially open with the first dlc. Is that December? Might not be worth patching if we will be getting access to it anyway. They have a lot more issues to worry about to improve the game. As for it already being on disc, I think that's a good move. Imagine the size of the download to add these areas if they weren't already included. That's time I'd rather use to shoot and loot.
