Problem with trading between guardians is that there aren't enough guns/items to sustain that kind of system. Would make the rewards meaningless because you already traded for the gear you wanted. Bungie wants loot to encourage you to play more. Maybe at some point there will be enough variation that it will make sense, but I doubt it.

Wait there is loot that's worth working for outside the VOG? It is a Christmas miracles before the holidays!

I can see no trading/selling/buying of regular weapons/armor. But I think materials should be up for trading/selling/buying on an AH system.
-
Yeah, it might make sense for a vendor to buy and sell materials depending on how it was set up. Would help people who only play crucible because they could buy upgrade materials with glimmer. Would have to be a fairly bad deal to stop it from being exploited though.
-
Well with the crucible cap at 100 per week, which is only 50 matches if you lose every single match, you can't exploit it that much. I think a 5-1 ratio would be appropriate. Same thing for converting marks. I think 3-1 vanguard to crucible marks and vice versa would be nice.

If only the RNG wasn't entirely broken and actually rewarded players that did well and not the one that did the least. Maybe at /some/ point they'll fix the loot system.
