Were you detecting an advantage attributed to your more powerful gear and weapons? Did the experience feel different than standard Crucible combat?

UPDATE: I know people quit games when they know they won't win. I'm more curious about your perceptions for how the power-level advantages work. Help me help you. Stay on target!

It was terrible. So bad that after grinding so much for Nirwen's Mercy, I felt like my shift was over and I could finally rest. The rounds were extremely unbalanced. I couldn't tell the difference between the level advantages. I was killing 300+ and vice-versa; I'm 297. The rewards were a complete joke. I mean blue engrams dropping at 30-40 points lower than my average were more insulting than the nightfall rewards that drop now. Maybe create more bounties next time, or offer different types of modes instead of only control. That would help spread the balance a bit more as opposed to bottlenecking everyone into one mode--control. And maybe introduce legendary marks in the loot pool for end-of-round rewards. It doesn't have to be much (e.g. 1, 2, or 3).

Ps. Can we also have the following; 1. Crucible map, no super available 2. Crucible map, one weapon only, randomly selected, pulse, HCannon etc 3. Crucible fight for the boss, no revive, winning team goes on to fight exotic dropping boss. 4. 12 man/women sides, big battle, big map, fight for the chest So forth and so on.....

Deej Levels are levels, old or new IB, the graph makes little difference. Lag is the primary concern as well as cheating within the game. Failure to remedy network issues, lag cheats and then super cheats, makes it unbearable. One game yesterday, three hunters on the opposing team made 4 members of my team quit. Battlefront is coming, competition is going to get fierce. Anyway, how is the new game developing??????

Too be honest, I couldn't tell any difference in "power" than regular crucible. Granted I'm 306, but killing/getting killed by a 273 didn't seem any different than killing a 301.

This games a mess you know it!

The first night was great. The second etc not so much. Due to all the cheating hunters IB was ruined. Hopefully there is a temp ban on the way for the people who exploited the Hunters Shadowshot. Lots of people currently haven't been able to enjoy the IB due to this. Most won't even take foot into IB. If no bans are issued then it truly shows that you don't care about your player base.
yes I already got rank 5 and have every thing
1 ReplyI thought the main source of rewards was going to be loot drops? I only had one from rank 0 to rank 5. What was the intended drop rate?

Freaking marks to buy iron banner gear. Just to get two characters gear is a weak of mark farming. I was going to do all three characters. Screw you guys and wasting my time. Iron banner was probably the best thing to look forward to.

Any reason why people can use 170 attack weapons with no fall off in ttk? If it's like this shit ima use the messenger for trails

Auto rifle blow and HoS is bs.

i played a couple games needless to say there was no real reward for playing it. the only reason i ever played iron banner in the past was to be up to par with other guardians in terms of gear. iron banner on HoW was the only reason i reached level 34, because of the etheric light lord saladin sold. but now im a 299 titan with no need for any of the gear / weapons that he sells and i have to use legendary marks to buy them. there's just no motivation for me to go into iron banner this time around. none whatsoever.

Didn't play after the spam of SS happened waited a few days then it was good got rank 5 today

Edited by Queen of Sidhe: 10/19/2015 1:47:50 AMPretty lame. I thought after the last Iron Banner that individual light level would matter. From the post on power level differences, I really only would have enjoyed this were that chart based on specific Light level. i.e. 308 light would only be taking 50% damage from a 288 as there's a 20 level difference. The heavy ammo felt like it was too important each match. It should be like Inferno matches were it's rare. Too many times, a team that is being out-played just saves up supers, guards the heavy and wins with it. Then they lose ground after it's all out. and 2 minutes later it happens again. And with the extra points rewarded for heavy weapon kills. . . it's just terrible. The drop rate was atrocious. It was almost nonexistent. Out of a good hundred games I got 3 drops. And totally reneged on that "Iron Banner gear is equivalent to raid gear." that we NEEDED before. The only way to get Iron Banner gear to a good enough level is to Infuse it with Raid gear. Making Raid gear doubly necessary .

Pretty lol worthy

The pulse rifle is the new king of the castle...and I can't seem to use one. I'm get 2 or 3 burst killed and I'm putting just as many bursts on the other guy. If the second goal was "gear as rewards" then the drop rate was WAY off the mark. I'll played consecutive matches and rarely saw drops.

3 RepliesGear needs to be 290 MINIMUM. Shotguns still need to be nerfed (play a game of iron banner and you know what im talking about) Specifically the conspiracy theory d archetype of gun. These have always and will continue to be a problem if they are not adjusted. Drops are AWFUL. i went rank 1-5 and didnt get a single weapon/ armor piece. I had to buy the cloak and pulse rifle but unfortunately dont have the marks for the boots and the sidearm. #Feedback

Its just pulse rifle glory in the crucible you cannot match the dps with any other gun. Auto rifles are still aweful and fusion rifles need a quicker charge rate or an initial charge sequence then allow fur full auto blasts, there should be no difference betweeb them and shotgun in the sense of how quick they fire

Haven't got any legendary drops. Gotten too score a ton, but guess who gets the legendary! The person in last place with 4 kills. How can I get 25 and get a 2.73 KD and not get a single reward. Fix it by next iron banner and it better be soon because I actually like iron banner, but it needs a better reward system.
-
2 RepliesI'll sum it up for you. Red death = congratulations, you've just won iron banner
-
I suppose being 283 light level getting killed by a guardian that is 289 light level using shadow of veils can head shot me once seems like the level advantage is on. I raised my Titan to rank 4 1/2 and no iron banner legendary drops. I raised my Warlock to rank 2 1/4 and I received a 282 iron wreath.... That is all...
-
Drop rates are poor. So poor in fact that i probably will not spend the time to play iron banner again until i hear they are fixed. To the op's comment, i noticed a slight difference. The gear i liked to use made me a 292. Fighting a 299 or above i could tell the took a few more hits
-
8 RepliesThis iron banner was hot shit. 1. You lied about the rewards dropping more frequently. 2. Terrible lag that you STILL HAVEN'T FIXED. 3. Shadowshot cheaters. 4. Being thrown into games where you're getting blown out 13000 to 6000. 5. Crucible loot in general has been awful in year 2. Haven't seen a single exotic drop, and when legendaries drop, it's once every 30 games and it's the person in LAST PLACE that gets it.

The so called "level advantage" has never been existent. Do you seriously think that anyone will EVER notice a difference when 100 light levels apart will only show a 10% damage difference? That difference is so insanely small that no matter what weapon you use, you will not notice jack shit. The only time I can say anyone will ever notice a difference is when facing off against someone 100 levels lower than you, and you're using a high rate of fire and low impact auto rifle. And that difference will still be roughly one bullet less to kill. Which no one will ever notice with a gun like that. You guys at bungie don't seem to know what your so called "power matters" slogan means. Seeing that power has literally never mattered in crucible.

You guys need to go the board for weapon balancing; pulse rifles are obviously people's go to gun now, and performance just as well with scout rifles in far ranges and do just as well in close ranges for ARs and handcannons. How do pulse rifles that are capable of doing 90 dmg from a precision burst has max stability? ARs are still not competitive enough. ADSing with scout rifles is had become flimsy; moving the gun while ADSing moves more than usual. As of now, weapons come in 2-3 archetypes. ARs - high RoF low impact, med RoF med impact (normal) , low rof high impact. Scout rifles - same. Handcannons - normal, or high impact. Pulse rifles - normal, and high RoF low impact. : all needs to be able to be competitive in one way or another. Whether that be the addition of flinch, stability, just something to make everything useable.
