Were you detecting an advantage attributed to your more powerful gear and weapons? Did the experience feel different than standard Crucible combat?

I don't really notice the power level advantages. Switching from 33 to 34 to use different gear doesn't really seem to make a difference. We also have a lv 27 that runs with us (all lv 34s) and he does just fine. I will say that the rep buff across characters is noticeable and appreciated, and I haven't had to go grind glimmer on Mars yet. So thats nice.

It was great for the first time. Solid drops, doing well with bounties. A few very had instances of lag and possibly a cheater not 100% positive. Overall: solid

In general, I'm not seeing significant power-level advantages as I'm mostly match-made with players of similar level. So far, at least for me, it's just playing regular Crucible. At the moment, my only real motivation to play Iron Banner is obtain Etheric Light, hunter boots, and the hunter gauntlets. The lag has become unbearable at this point and really needs to be addressed to improve the overall PvP experience. On the plus side, I have seen frequent legendary weapon HoW drops in Iron Banner. Traditionally in IB and Crucible in general, I have relied on scout rifles and Vex Mythoclast for my primaries. With Thron and Last Word currently dominating PvP, I decided to join the club and have significantly improved overall K/D. I still switch out my primaries for different maps, but Thron, in particular, is about 90% of what you see now.

Edited by ClanKilla187: 6/5/2015 9:58:42 PMGot on none of my usual friends on line, hopped on my ipad you know to try and find a fireteam even tho Its not required for IB. Went bungie.net just to find a bunch of elites postes on the forums "need max 34","max thorn", "max red death", ect. After 20-30 minutes of not being accepted or messaged back on xbox live you know cuz i have to go to the dashboard, open up friend, finds someone, then send them a message, only to get no replay, finally get replay and join a fireteam then get kick cuz you know iam only level 33. One of my actual friends logged we team up and head to the iron banner. Pretty much even match was a lag fest even with my full green bar, open nat, and ports open like bungie suggest. Still it was fun destiny is pretty solid multiplayer shooter. And like you would expect every one running around with thorn, red death, witch doesn't really bother me cuz i just kill em anyway. As for the power level differences for even 32-34 depending on witch helmet i have on i am 32-33. Didnt really seem apparent what so ever smashing 34's like cupcakes with my 32. Cant say much from the other perspective.

Uh... Thorn...

Hi Deej, While I have enjoyed various aspects of destiny and previous versions of IB, I, like a lot of others I imagine, did not see much difference in facing off against players of different levels. Between getting killed while going shot for shot against players below level 30, the consistent amount of lag being experienced in each game, and routinely being dropped into games within seconds of the game ending (always on the losing team mind you), this round of IB left me pretty discouraged. I made it to rank 3 by the second day and I'm done. It was just pretty miserable this time around. Thank you for asking for feedback though. I do appreciate that. -the twitch of the squirrel

It was awesome because I wasn't playing destiny 😀

Lag and glitch. Everywhere. We beat teams who used thorn and last word, but man did it get boring only seeing those weapons.

4 RepliesEdited by Shadow_Legion: 6/5/2015 5:11:28 AMWe do not feel the power level differences. There is almost no reason to not be level 33 or 32. The damage difference from a hand cannon head shot is like 2 to 4 damage; which is nothing. Thorn's burn negates that completely leaving no difference at all. The power difference per level needs to be greater. There needs to be a reason to not go in as level 33 and it needs to be felt. My 2 biggest problems with Iron Banner at the moment are: Iron grip bounty Matchmaking into 6 man teams when solo queuing The iron grip bounty prompts players to capture control points. It promotes poor play incentivizing flipping spawns from capturing control points that are on the other side of the map. It also disincentives defending control points instead making it better to let enemies neutralize your points so you can capture it again. My suggestion: change iron grip bounty to; "earn 15000 points while holding two or more control points". This objective would give players a reason to defend and attack without flipping the spawns constantly leading the headless chicken cluster-blam!- we have happening now. On matching against whole fire teams. Can we just not have this shown anymore? I am tired of it. I do not care if it takes the game 10 more minutes to find me a match I'll wait.

1 ReplyIf you're joining into a match already in progress, you're going to be at an extreme disadvantage. The opposition already has the heavy ammo on both sides, and a fully cooked super; while you're just trying to figure out what the hell is going on. Of course you'll probably be at least 3,000 points behind with no hope of closing the gap. Points should be divided by the number of players present in the match, so a small band of 4 can remain competitive against a group of 6, hold the fort down until help arrives. Also if a player is entering the game late, they should receive a buff on their super based on an average of super bars across the map.

It was horrible
-
Nooooo it did not feel different all I see is thornbabys all around the place something needs to be done about that perk
-
It's been very laggy. You can tell who has host and who is flat out cheating. Also the level advantages are not very noticeable as everyone playing is at 32 or above.
-
Terrible. Would love to give good feed back but I couldn't tell with the amount of lag going on. People were porting all over the place, some would stand there and take shots straight to the face for several minutes and then you would just be dead for no apparent reason. Lots of cheaters out there in force. Not sure why either it's not like IB has anything that great to offer. Won't be playing again all week after yesterday's games. The few games I did play without all the bs stated above seemed pretty fairly leveled.
-
Nerfing the fusions that hurt the vex was so stupid. Your just promoting even more hand cannon use. Why nerf one of the hardest guns to get in the game? As if there werent enough people using Thorn. Now you make another nerf killing yet another cool gun.
-
Disapointment, with the lag.... stop playing IB, and won't comeback to destiny if there are no MM in the game.
-
Filled with people using thorn hitting me twice and running off and letting burn kill me. Red death is a bit of a counter if you can kill them or someone else before burn gets you. I used to use vex but since the new patch/update I noticed it is different. Does matchmaking match look for fireteams of similar sizes to match up? Few times I came across 6 man teams and I had not even a 2 man team on my side. Kinda sucks.
-
1 ReplyCarry more Heavy Ammo perk should be in Iron Banner leg armor IMO. It's the only thing worthwhile on greaves.
-
The lag is real. Whether it's lag switchers or just a terrible host (which shouldn't happen anyway).
-
i think it was fine, 32-34 were able to play without issue
-
The levels are very noticeable and impacting.. rewards one for putting the time in prior.. yes even for us casual PVP players that draw the ire of the hardcore.
-
The lvl advantages do work I have survived a lvl 32 Titans shoulder charge (I'm lvl 34) I have eaten a 27s gjallarhorn to the face and lived (not sure if it was lag?) have out gunslinged 2 lvl 30s both tag teaming me with thorn I finished em with TLW it seems pretty alright just connection issues.

Iron banner reminded my why I typically play rumble. Because getting stomped by premades or being thrown into losing games pretty must destroys the experience when solo queuing. Iron banner (and trials while we're discussing it) needs 2 ques. Solo and party queuing. Solo only gets matched with/vs solo. Party only gets matched with/vs party. Yes this might make ques longer, but id rather wait 10x as long to have a decent competitive game, than spend several hours being thrown into a games vs 6 man premades while my team is all solo ques players. And while I'm sure this post will draw the inevitable "why don't you just use third party matchmaking to find teams" it's as simple as any attempts at doing so has somehow yielded me teammates even worse than what random matchmaking does.
-
It seemed pretty fair to me, the damage curb isn't very hard to deal with, and even an auto rifle is capable of kills.
-
3 RepliesThe Heavy Metal Bounty is not registering. 3 sequential machine gun kills for a machine gun spree. I've wipe the map with my Against All Odds, and wasn't able to put a notch in this bounty. I disregard them now. All other bounties seem to function.

Dear Bungie my son has to get his leg extracted next weak is there any thing you can do for him?
