Your stupid ass -blam!- destroy this games economy are you an idiot. You obviously don't even know what a game economy is and trading wouldn't hinder the game it would give it an economy and help it flourish. Don't say things you don't know anything about.

  • I'm totally against trading, although I really have wanted to trade some points. Honestly though, if trading were introduced now, I don't see too many problems arising right now. The glimmer cap is already ease to reach and glimmer use is mostly ammo. Materials are easily farmed with time and used for personal use. Economy of destiny is player based and does not affect other players games. Trading items is heavily reliant on RNG drops so no one can grind for said many hours to get a wanted item, and players could get an item randomly in first hour of play after lvl 20. Most items don't prove anything of where you've been at all, except queen and IB but those aren't very unique. Only thing is it could affect later on in the life of the game. Higher lvl people who've hit the cap could boost friends and clan members, leaving loners to be at a disadvantage. And most annoying would be getting messages every time in the tower with ransoms trying to trade or sell in real life. That would ruin the tower to be pestered non stop

  • Have you hit 30 yet? EVERYONE sends you a message asking to help them. I hit 30 only a little while after VoG came out. I was in first of 150 people to hit 30 when it was the cap. The tower was ruined a very long time ago lol If they added a global chat system that would resolve all of these issues. If you look at Defiance, the game has an economy and trading. It didn't ruin the game at all and makes it much better (I used Defiance because it is a console MMO). To further prove my point here: http://i.imgur.com/WSOtRA6.png http://i.imgur.com/iWgFKy2.jpg

  • 1. Sorry, but I don't take orders from random internet flamers. 2. Not only do I know what an economy IS, I probably have a better understanding of it than you do. In fact I just explained 7 different ways that another poster could acquire lengedary and exotic gear in Destiny without having to rely on monster drops. Unlike you, he was rather grateful. 3. Human beings are biologically wired to seek the maximum reward for hte minimum of effort....the Loot cave and other exploits that had to be stamped out by Bungie are examples of this in action. 4. Player trading only exists in RPGs (20 years of playing experience) for two reasons. A.) To clear a player's inventory of items he can't use., and make room for him to get new things. B) to create shortcuts for people seeking to get the game's rewards without having to go through earning them with game play. See point 3. 5. If it were just a matter of a better weapon or a better piece of armor...it would matter. But in Destiny, GEAR is the cornerstone of the game's LEVELLING mechanism. A player trading system would IMMEDIATELY throw an enormous monkey-wrench into the game's major workings. 6. If you don't think that this would be IMMEDIATELY exploited by people selling raid gear, or "trading" it for lesser gear and shards/energy...you are either being profoundly naive..... ....or that's exactly what you want to have happen.

  • Thats all very well at the start i would have agrreed with you i have got warlock and hunter on 29 done the raid about six times and had 2 gauntlets from it 1 for titan 1 warlock got 49 strange coins after buying from xur every week put in about 180 hours without farmings loot caves obviously done patrols and that but most of my legendary stuff i have had to buy thats bullshit when all my fruends get good stull all the time so reckon trading would be good and not as bad as you think

  • Those are REALLY good points. I've been half and half on whether or not a trading system would be good or not. I mean, its really not that hard to get good gear in Destiny. The only ppl I hear wanting a trading system are ppl that want Destiny to be a little closer to MMO roots, ppl that aren't very lucky with finding good gear, and ppl that, like you said, want the maximum reward for the minimum effort. I like that this game makes you work for what you want.

  • It isn't that hard...all you have to do is play the game and understand the games economy. I was posting on another thread about what legendaries (and exotics) we had...and I was shocked to realize that I had acquired about a DOZENS pieces of weapons and armor....and had sharded three others I had no use for. Simply by playing the game, and being smart about it. But that takes work, and you random drops are like the lottery. You'll always have people who'll choose the chance of "getting rich quick" by winning the lottery, versus the slow-but-steady approach of working to earn something. Which is what your PURCHASES and weapons bounties are in this game. Everything else is blind luck. Winnign a playing the slots.

While many of your points are valid, many are just wrong and can/have been worked around many times before. 1) There is a cap on Glimmer, 25,000. With that cap, it stops inflation in reguards to glimmer. 2) Account bind; Strange coins, Acendant materials and raid gear. 3) There is no ability to drop items on the ground With three tweaks(Item 2) all that can be traded are items, and that boils down to what a person is wiling to part with. The only item left to trade are items and materials. Materials are free and limitless, you just need to be willing to spend the time to get them.

  • Yes, with a few tweaks, it could be literally impossible to give gear to another player, but glimmer has nothing to do with it. If you think about it, glimmer isn't used very much, and most ppl have more than enough glimmer. If a trading system was put in the game, it would ruin the game, depending on the type of trading system, but I don't want a trading system what so ever.

  • It will ruin the game because people will sell items for real life money online. Then Chinese farmers will start hiring people to play the game for pennies a day and sell stuff to us. the game economy will be ruined because you can just buy any item you want for a dollar. Alot of good games have went down from this.

  • Only minimizes the potential for abuse. Doesn't eliminate it. ...and any security system can be gamed or circumvented by someone with enough time and motivation to do so. I REALLY want Heart of the Praxic Fire for my warlock. Rather than risk damaging the game, I'm willing to wait until either Xur sells it or I can find a way to raid.

  • Well, with server side game saves and no off line mode, you would have to hack the actual game servers. Then any code you would change would have to be sepcific to your avatar, whitch would be a dead givaway. If you changed the code, you would have to change it for all....and that's counter productive...

  • You cant cut down a game mecanic just because botfarmers and goldsellers exist because that will mean they got power on the game itself. Method can counter that like moderation and surveillance into the game. And dont say it isnt possible with the money Bungie dispose they run something like that even a volunteer moderation can stop chinese farmer.

  • Even so, a trading system wouldn't be very useful in this game, seeing as certain items like ascendant materials, raid gear, and strange coins, are account bound items, and those items would be the ones in high demand.

  • There is an economy, but it is between the player and the NPCs, not between players. Players to player trading would destroy this game and it gear-based leveling system. Overnight you'd have lvl 28 and 29 players farming the raids for gear and bringing it back to sell to those who can't be bothered. Overnight you'd no longer be able to tell who actually finished the raid...and who got their gear and ability to get to lvl 30 by simply buying it from those who did.

  • We cant call that a ''game economy'', because that only trading with NPC. True game economies are owned by players to others like in EVE, Guild Wars, or others MMO's. A game economy is a something more complex than basical weepons selling. Destiny could have imply more since it have money (glimmers), gears (weapons and armors), collectibles( helliums, metals. ect , marks, coins and mote of lights) so that is a real shame to not have put a real trading market into the game sure is more complex but no trading at all is stupid and casual. At the least i wish a gifting was possible. And i dont think a game market would destroy the game because most on people just dismantel gears for ressources so it balance.

  • No. We CAN call that a game economy, because is what the game's economy IS. It is the system by which the game allows a player to get what he needs. Bungie has made it clear that they have NO intentions of supporting player trading any time in the near future. Any ideas that they might have been entertainin were almost certainly kaboshed by the Loot Cave and other exploits that they had to hot-fix. The second you allowed player to player trading in this game, you'd have level 28 and 29 guardians farming the raids and bringing it back to sell to players who couldn't be bothered. Which would effectively DESTROY this game's gear-based levelling system. It would be the equivalent----in other RPGs----of letting players BUY experience points.

  • I'm not saying anything specific just mainly would cause some kind of problems I mean you can already transfer stuff from your own characters through the vault....that's good enough for me my lvl 6 warlock has a full set of legendary armor waiting for him lol no complaints on that

  • I completely agree no one would actually earn anything and I'm sure people would find a way to glitch stuff if it did. happened with borderlands
