Bought an new router: Asus RT-N66U
Let my ISP put the modem into bridge mode.
Was able to play almost an hour without disconnection errors. Then I logged out to do something else.
This is an theory I got, why I got disconnected constantly:
Destiny uses p2p to let users play.
What happens with p2p, for example with downloading: is that your are directly connected to the uploaders computer.
Probably it is the same here, when you are playing Destiny, there is an connection to the other people console, that are also playing Destiny..
This asks a lot of the router, because it needs to maintain all those connections.
Most of the modems/routers that are delivered with the internet connections, are cheap. And cannot handle so much connections.
The router I bought today, can handle 39700 connections are the same time, before it is overrun.
Ow I did not buy an other router just for Destiny, my modem also threw me out of xbox live, when playing other games.
ISP did not want to replace the modem, because it is an firmware issue and they are working on it...

Thanks Dub for keeping this thread. Its very interesting as I'm having the same issues. I've opened every port for Destiny and Xbox live, called Microsoft and my ISP, cleared cache, reset modem... still getting Caterpillar/Hawk errors constantly. I'm curious to see if your new router will solve the issue. Please keep us posted.

Dubbel, I replaced my Ubee DDW365 with a new modem/router (Arris DG1670) and have not had a single error in about 10 hours of play time. Just plugged it in, no port forwarding or static IP or anything. I think the DDW365 has issues like you mentioned.

Good to hear you also solved your issues :)
