The "I want to explore this place!" Thread
So I decided to create a thread involving the worlds and planets of Destiny. My personal favorite is Venus, ten-fold. I congratulate those who designed such a beautiful place, but I crave more. The Destiny universe suffers from inconveniently obvious invisible walls, and areas locked from a distance. I look ahead, and I see opportunities of unguided adventure; but the most intriguing locales are cut off.
In this thread, anybody can post a screenshot of a distant, un-explorable location that they wish to set foot into. Bonus to those who give information on how to find it.

I hope to see this thread go far, so Bungie can see this, and hopefully release the gates later if they aren't already planning to.

Some good choices here but what about actual locations? As in real locations on these planets that we are aware of? Olympus Mons on Mars would be my first pick. If it's available at least. Other than that, most of those volcanoes on Venus, which one is erupting the most or the one across the bay, and the sand mountains on Mars. And the City of course. lol

Edited by Red Frog: 10/19/2014 8:37:34 PMSpeaking of Venus, I'd like to just jump across the gap to those buildings right near the beginning. I haven't even tried it as I'm sure there's a kill zone. I basically gave up exploring during beta after I got stuck on top of a platform on Earth. I figure if I have to jump to get there it'll probably just kill me anyway. I've often wondered why they even bothered to give us a jump button in a rail shooter.

I'm all for Freehold. I expected it to be the bulk of Mars, done in the ODST style but with collapsed towers 'n stuff. Maybe they could connect the subway in a DLC?

2 RepliesThe locations you mentioned are pretty intriguing, and there were a few that came to mind for me. The base of the dam in The Divide, the actual frontier (the area at the very beginning of the game), and Twilight Gap.

Sadly destiny is riddled with invisible walls all attempt to explore an area ended at the invisible walls

I'm about done with the game honestly, so I don't have much to offer on the topic besides agree that there was much too little to explore. (Open world... Lol) good creative post though.
