So I took part in the beta for Destiny with a key provided through IGN prime, pre-purchased the Guardian Edition for PS3 for $90 within a few days after the beta ended, requested keyboard/mouse support during the beta, fire up the game for the first time today since it's release & find that the request for keyboard/mouse support was completely ignored. A serious question for the developers: Can any of us expect keyboard/mouse support any time in the future? Considering the fact that the request for the support was completely ignored, I have to say I'm a bit disappointed I purchased it this early (if at all). Don't get me wrong, the game is great, but being a PC gamer for the last decade, it's not really that fun playing with a controller. Were I to write a review on the game, most factors would be getting 3-5 out of 5, but controls would be getting a 1 out of 5 for a number of reasons: - Odd running controls - Very little controller customization - No Keyboard/Mouse support - Request for Keyboard/Mouse support made during the beta was completely ignored As it is now, I honestly can't see myself playing PvP in this game without being able to use a keyboard/mouse combo & I was going to purchase a wireless PS3 headset just for this game; I personally don't see a point in it now & am glad I didn't waste $300 on a wireless PS3 headset when I'm not even going to use it. Because I didn't even get a response to that request & it obviously wasn't even taken into consideration, this has pretty well solidified that I won't be purchasing any further FPS/TPS games from Bungie for any system other than the PC. Next time if I want to play a game with a keyboard & mouse & I don't get an answer, I won't be purchasing it, so I hope you will take this into consideration & give us who prefer the keyboard/mouse setup a reason to continue purchasing from you. The oddest thing about this is that the menus are using an emulated mouse, so there must've been some plans to add it at one point; what happened? Considering I'm being given the option for a polls here, I'm going to start one to let others vote in on this. A little explanation of the voting options (considering I was limited on how many characters I could use in the answers): #1 - You would also like keyboard/mouse support. #2 - You have played games with a keyboard/mouse before, but would prefer to use a controller in this game. #3 - You have never played a game using a keyboard mouse before. (this last one was added to differentiate between people who do have experience playing with a keyboard/mouse, but prefer to use a controller in this game to those who really have no experience playing games with a keyboard/mouse) EDIT: Everybody keeps crying that I'm looking for an unfair advantage in PvP, so let me put things into perspective here. I am not wanting an unfair advantage, I just don't want to be at a disadvantage because I'm using controls I am rusty with in this type of game when I'm used to a keyboard & mouse. I have stated this many times before in this thread & it's not getting through, so now I'm adding it to the OP itself. When you get used to using a keyboard/mouse in a certain genre, you get rusty using a gamepad in those same genres. This is my case & the reason why I am asking for proper support for PC gamers. I'm not a fan of PvP & usually don't purchase games that only have this mode, so in knowing I'm going to have to play a game with unfamiliar controls (when you look at the fact that customization of the controller is very limited, [u]unfamiliar[/u] is an understatement), I already know I'm not going to stand a chance & won't be fun at all in even attempting to play PvP with a controller. Based on this, the only thing I can see that is viable is to avoid PvP until proper PC controls are added (I don't give a s*** if it's a console; I'm regretting this purchase already & from the responses in this thread alone I think this will be my first & last purchase ever from Bungie), otherwise I'm more likely to simply uninstall the game & write a review on the game based not only on the lack of support, but also the responses from the Bungie community for twisting the purpose of the thread into something it was never meant to be to where I don't really even give a s*** about the game anymore. I think I'm done here; I'm requesting a moderator to lock this thread. Unless you add this support in the future, you've lost a customer.
