The Crucible's Biggest Flaw

The Strong Suits The pvp setting has many trends, many complaints, and many systems in place to provide a sense of competitive matchmaking. Where the crucible really falls flat on it's face, is not in random rewards, shotgun tactics, or a class balance that seems thrown to the wayside. Those tenants of the pvp system are in fact what make it so competitive and so rewarding, finding your niche and way to throw the balance of a game in your favor are what the tiered and tree'd system of weapons armor and player ability make the game so unique and playable. What does not work is the system in which matches are made and the team unit is ignored. The Issue So I'm playing a level 14 Titan, and I'm pretty good at sniping and scout rifles, I understand their limitations and I understand their role. None of that matters, however, if I don't have my full niche role available to me, as my leveling has not yet completed, my guns are limited, and my ability to kill is severely impaired. What options am I left with? Settling for assists is something that seems to be a trend I am playing, though on some maps I can lead my team as a low level, generally these maps are contingent upon my ability to use the sniper, which is a one shot headshot kill, no matter the sniper rifle. I can likewise go for heavy ammo, though my level 13 heavy is just about as effective as the shingen-e. So what happens? I'm a miserable player, I lack the ability to contribute, and have little to no connection to any experience I am earning. I become dead weight and an easy kill in the crucible, no matter how cautiously I'm playing. That's simply not a good game role, it's not fun, it doesn't feel balanced. and it makes pvp a terrible task. Possibly Solutions So I'm not going to be a low level player for long, I put a lot of time in, and am actually decent at FPS games, I can tell you assuredly however, that those playing the game for the first time, without knowledge of this crucible are going to be left with a sour taste in their mouth, and the late playership of the game will not have enjoyable experiences in the pvp world, clearly being built alongside the story component. So why? There are easy fixes, and solidly realistic ways to implement a more balanced crucible. My team matchup Why exactly am I fighting a team of 27s? I'm not ready for that, my gear is tin foil in comparison to exotics or even rares. Match me with below 20s, I play games where my team has two below 20s and the other team is entirely stacked. let me assist Okay, so maybe the crucible should only be earned, fair point. But unless you want to close the game to levels below 20, give me a role. What exactly makes a good assistant? The chance to be an apprentice, to the team members that are "stealing" my kills anyways . What that entails, is communication, as a larger issue it makes little to no sense why I cannot speak with my crucible team casually. Communication makes me useful, not just two shot cannon fodder. Kill the timed button Do you know what a time lag is for in a UI system? It's to present a chance to review your decision. The fact I need to hold a button down for a long time to destroy an exotic, yeah, that makes sense. The idea that I need to fight a timer to leave a match without impacting the next game start, that's moronic. The number of games I have played 6vs2 because my team members decided they wanted out is ridiculous. The number of times I've fought the timer to back out is equally as ridiculous. So kill the times press, and replace it with an "are you sure" dialogue box, or at least make the time shorter. balance teams based on game data Yeah, I'm stuck with the same 12 players, I understand why. But the idea that I can be being exceedingly well, and at a lower than 20 level cannot carry my team, is frustrating beyond any measure, especially when it occurs game after game. drop rewards Yeah, I'm not going to get clues or coins or shards, but how about an item that might help me be useful once and a while? Why should the story be the only place for me to gear? The issue is present, but the fix could be anything Now I'm a player, I've noticed certain things. This is my generative input,. To think that I have the golden eye and can really fix or demand a specific fix is certainly not in my mindset, I just hope that my feedback does make a difference, for the sake of any players who will be joining destiny later on. thoughts?
