I'll just go ahead and copy/paste my response to the review: Never watched one of his reviews before. Probably never will again. I'm quite tired of trying to counter every point for people so i'll just comment on a few. I agree that the PvP and gameplay is spot on. I agree that the story lacks a little (though not as much as he feels.) Halo 1 didn't answer much either or come with much. So if destiny is heading that same route i think all will be fine. I agree about the lore outside of the game. What's on the cards should be in the game. I Disagree on his view of the story. Perhaps the reason we don't get much to our character (lore wise) is because we are not an important piece in the over all story. Merely we spectate the universe in motion through a guardian. the soul series is like this. (not saying we shouldn't have more custom options just speaking from a lore perspective.) I disagree on the amature level design. Yes most missions are defense. But We can break down any game to that level. Halo, for instance, is mainly switch simulator. What really matters is the feel you get from it all. To me it didn't feel boring or repetitive. To him it did. it's a thing of perspective and should stop there. I also disagree on his grind complaints. Judging from this kind of way he talks he's not a fan of normal loot systems. He doesn't enjoy random. Which is fine it's not for everyone. But i don't think they did loot wrong in this game. In fact most RPG like games i've played that include a loot system make it heavily random based. It's common to get things not for your person. Destiny is repetitive. But I expected this when i heard it was going to borrow MMO elements. Nobody likes being shafted after some hard work. But i'd also not want things straight up handed to me just because i did X activity. Knowing that i can get something rare from doing those tough things is enough for me. This game doesn't feel repetitive to me. It's frustrating at times. But i love it overall. If i had to give it a review it would be a solid 8/10. If the expansions build on the entire game I will be even happier. I seriously hope they actually expand on every element like they stated. (meaning more strikes, raids, MP maps and loot etc.) Though The biggest ones for me will be strikes and raids. We don't get more of those i will actually be disappointed. As long as the remaining games build off of this they will become better and much more people will be pleased.

  • I stopped reading after you said Halo one didn't answer anything or come with much. Halo had a great story, you learned everything you needed to know to enjoy the game, while keeping enough a mystery to make you want to buy the next one.

  • It didn't You didn't know why we were at war. We didn't know anything about the covies other then shoot them dead. The forrunners had like no information. MP had very few weapons and very basic maps. I'm not shit talking halo 1. Just stating that halo 1 set the stage for it's universe just like destiny is.

  • Have you ever played Halo? Let's look at the central figure in the game. The Halo's. Guess what, you learn what they are for! You learn a little about the flood. And there is a beginning, a middle, and an end. Destiny, so far you learn NOTHING. You are introduced to a few things, but they aren't followed up on.

  • Excellently put. Especially considering halo came out at a very different time, games weren't like this is 2001, halo was well ahead of its time. Destiny, not so much.

  • From what you have said I can understand that your way of dealing with faults in games is to pretend they don't exist or resign yourself to them by saying they were done right. Its actually sad that you wont criticize them even in a constructive manner, how do you expect them to improve if you wont give them feedback to improve upon?.

  • By stating how i felt doesn't change wether or not they are problems. Bungie can hear that from anyone else it doesn't need to be me. It's honestly very hard to let me down because i don't expect much from any game. I just want it to be new and exciting to me and fun to play. All of which destiny is to me. If someone wanted to ask me how to improve destiny i'd gladly list. You make a mighty big assumption about me off of a single post.

  • You defend the absent story, the poor mission design and the awful (or unenjoyable) loot system despite knowing full well that Bungie can and has done better by simply employing your opinion (well perhaps the loot system was new). I'm not sure what else I am supposed to assume or extract from your post?.

I laugh at people making the comparison with the 'Souls' series and using it as a defense for this game. It was FromSoftware's intention to create the game like this, and they aced it. Nobody really knows if Bungie wanted to do it this way, but if they had they wouldn't have included any kind of plot points (lol) or even the Grimoire. It's neither here nor there and just comes off looking like a piece of shit game that excels in small areas. It is fun, the gameplay is the only thing bringing me back. The lackluster story, the boring boss fights, the tedious loot system, and the lack of communication would have driven me away from this game if not for the solid gameplay. You're basically giving Bungie and Activision a free pass on the grounds that the game is overall lackluster but if you have to pay to expand it that would be fine, if this becomes a trend in gaming it would be the fault of you people. Also you say you didn't find it repetitive, then go on to say it is repetitive and then say again that you don't find it repetitive, so I'm kind of disappointed I wrote this response before I realized you were basically talking out of your ass.

  • You know It's hard to take you seriously when you act like a brat. Do some growing up. Your BS aside... Just because we don't know doesn't make the idea more or less invalid. People who openly shut this idea out just do it to be jerks because they don't want to be wrong. If bungie indeed leave story out for DLC then i will openly admit to being wrong. There is no harm in looking at other options instead of just assuming the worst. I really actually laughed at your last sentence. Either you fail at reading your you just openly wanted to insult my response. I mentioned How things feel are important. When i state the game is repetitive i'm speaking from a mechanical factual point. But when i say i don't feel it being repetitive i mean it doesn't feel repetitive. I'm not in anyway stating it's not just because it doesn't feel that way to me. It wasn't really hard to come to this conclusion had you actually seriously read my response. If you continue to run your mouth like a -blam!- in your next response i will simply ignore you. I come here to discuss not deal with shit heads that can't stand someone feeling a different way then them.
