This is just a classic case of someone not liking the game the way it is, the way it's creators intended it to be. That's okay that you have an opinion (you don't like it) but whats wrong is that you want it to change. Sounds pretty childish to me. The way I look at it, the fact that it's more challenging to use the ability because it has to be a killing blow is literally what it is: a challenge. Just use melee once it's charged on the smaller minions (thralls, shanks) and you're golden

    If you are to respond, answer to the whole question thanks. The info is lacking, I committed time to a build that is lack luster. I play for a challenge yes, to beat vault of glass there are many challenges already in place. Trying to conserve my melee attack so that I may successfully activate my perk on kill isn't beneficial, it will get me killed. It's an unwanted challenge that can be avoided simply. It's a challenge that is neither fun or rewarding as the bonus from the perks are hardly worthwhile. Sure I could use a shotgun when the enemies decide to close the distance, but what if I like to use the sniper rifle? More importantly I'm saying that I'm committing a talent (embrace the void) which is supposed to allow me to use my energy drain without having to melee. I would say have the embrace the void trigger the soul rip/life steal on kill with the grenade and surge when the grenade hits. It is a reasonable request wouldn't you agree? I commit a talent to avoid the challenge of having to melee? Of course the new challenge is not having the other available perks which are actually good too... I

  • I agree wholeheartedly. Where is the diversity? It's funny because they give you gear sets with the different stats but don't allow you to play the class the way you want. Instead they plan on having all the gear just add up to numbers that nobody really understands how they function. In the end you turn out to be just another warlock with the same old build. Thanks OP for bringing this to light. Glad to see that at least 1 other person is not blindly stacking stats without knowing how they are really supposed to function. Killing blow skills can suck a fat chode.

  • Agree with your assessment and op. Level 27 lock with legendary and exotic armour I switch between depending on class, but at this rate discovering that void doesn't work as intended. As a void lock I expect to be able to do less damage with my grenades and melee but have increased survivability due to energy drains, because they don't trigger when I use them this build makes no sense. Why should I settle when I can do a a hell of alot more damage and revive as a sunsinger? The classes need to be more defined in general imho no real difference to the way you play, certainly in pvp anyway. Supers aside, which are a signature of your class and shouldn't be the only difference.
