University of Mississippi. I contacted the IT Department and got this email back: "The Destiny servers use the same ports that P2P file sharing programs use. These ports are blocked for a reason, to prevent users using the Ole Miss network to pirate software or other copyrighted material. While I'm sure the networking team is looking into a solution, we have no ETA for a fix." Need your help, Bungie. Got to play the game on the first day, and on the following day I got the centipede error code.

  • Also at ole miss. I called the IT dept. And they said they were waiting for the patch still and that was 11:30. Who knows when they do shit.

  • They might have a different security device manufacturer that's a little slow on the draw.. At least they will install it, and aren't downright refusing.. Lol I was just thinking about what I was going to say to them, but I guess I'll hold off for now Hotty toddy!

  • I'm living in a fraternity house and we use an extension of the Ole Miss wifi so I'm on the same boat. I've called them a few times and gotten basically transferred everywhere from the media department to housing and no one will give me a straight answer. The closest I've gotten is one guy said that University policy was no opening ports up for any reason so we might be out of luck until an update. The IT department has been relatively useless.

  • Maybe I'll just go down to the office personally.. It's harder to transfer someone when they are standing right in front of you... Not like we will be able to play much this weekend anyways though, rush is pretty time-consuming

  • That's what I was thinking anyway. Between exams and rush, there's no time to play anyway so I'm not really in any sort of hurry for a fix as long as it's done by next week. You on the Xbone?   • Good to see others having the same problem on campus, hopefully the patch will allow a filter for the ports instead of blocking them completely (I'm no IT expert, but that would make sense to me)
