Bungie, I am very much enjoying playing, recently getting to the moon and exploring things that I couldn't during the beta. One thing that bothers me however is, that just like the beta, I am limited to only 3 characters. I didn't bring this up during beta because I thought it was a beta thing. I have two points of view on this.
First, I feel on the character side of the house, there should be 6 character slots. This would allow for each person to make and focus on one character in each subclass, if they so desire, without the need for switching out loadouts all the time to benefit their current build.
Second, multi-player families. I promised my son that he could play Destiny when it came out, and I'm keeping that promise. However instead of playing a Titan, Warlock and Hunter, I'm playing a Titan and Warlock and my Hunter's skill tree and gear is completely at the control of my son. I'm glad for the enjoyment that this is bringing my son, but I would like to be able to experience and enjoy my own hunter as well.
Perhaps there is a way to make more characters that I am not aware of, but I request the addition of a few extra character slots.

1 ReplyIt was likely implemented in this fashion so people wouldn't run the raid content 6 times for gear drops. With only 3 character slots, you can only do certain activities 3 times a week. If you have a PS4, you can make another PSN account for you to have a hunter or so your son can have an account of his own.

I would like to add my desire for more than three slots - six or nine would be ideal. I want to have at least one of each race and gender - after all there is a voice actor for every guardian race in each gender, and I would hate to miss the opportunity to hear each of them. Please Bungie, allow us at least three more.

1 ReplyEdited by Shadowtamer139: 9/19/2014 3:51:40 AMI completely agree ~ its crap that we only get 3 slots ~ I have two kids and they both like to play Destiny, so in essence everyone gets 1 char slot and are stuck with the first class they chose. 9 total slots would have eliminated any gripes or complaints because everyone could have a Lock, Hunter and Titan. Please Bungie fix this !

Here the issue I see with having more than 3. First I think the people who who race to be max level when new dlc comes out, already have it easy if you have 3 characters. Adding more will make them have max level the first night of new dlc. Second those very same people are the ones who are going to complain that the game is boring and there is nothing to do. Maybe a solution is if bungie would let you have more than one account per system so that way you have more character, but the gear, loot, etc can't be shared between accounts. I think with npcs like eris they made the game too easy, cause with VOG you had to grind for mats and gear, now you just need to max eris on one character trade shards and you can have all max characters much faster.

What's the point?? Once you reached lvl 20 you're char will be 32 in no time because you can switch gear from your other char. The only thing is you can do one more raid and nightfall a week so your chances of getting exotics will increase. There is just no point having a 4th char.

1 ReplyYa there is have your son create his own profile on your device dumbass!

Bump. A 4th slot is needed to add playability to this game due to the leaked gap between wolves and comet. There is very little reason to play the wolves raid after you get weapons. The dev team seems less concerned with fixing the many bugs this game has (heavy ammo armor bug, VoG bugs), while fixing cheese regularly. The bugs are more gaming breaking than cheeses. Iron banner is irrelevant since the armor will just be replaced at comet with new vendor gear, very grind due to the rep reset, and players with bad internet connections make it horrible at times. While regular crucible is fun and feels like it is not a grind like iron banner, the bad connections make it a not fun experience at times. We had 2 players on opposing team drop last night in a round and every one went to green connections from red, so the matchmaking needs to take a longer analysis. Adding a 4th slot will give us something to due once the new content gets old other than moving on to other games, which means more future dlc sales to people that would have traded the game in.

When they add in the new subclasses I hope they add more slots.

I say four characters.

4 slots would be so great

Need at least 4 to run a double primary to guarantee raid armor drops.

My thing is from an RPG standpoint I would really like to have an extra 3 slots so I can have classes that I play for story/patrol/strikes, and characters I play on PVP with. I love my hand cannon wielding Sunsinger warlock, but don't really like taking him to PVP where I do not use my hand cannon. I think 6 slots provides enough flexibility, while keeping the character count overall down. Especially considering the vault is already shared, as well as the glimmer.

I only have 2

3 Male, 3 Female = 6 3 For Each Race = 9 Please add more Character Slots!!!

Edited by WortWortWarthog: 9/10/2014 8:04:24 PMYou only need a character slot for one of each class, that's what Bungie intended it to be used for. I understand that you want to be able to make your own Hunter, but if you get bored of a certain character, then maybe you could switch who plays each character with your son from time to time.

1 ReplyYou can switch between sub classes at anytime, I believe. So I don't really mind having only 3 slots.
