Thank you Bungie! Just letting you guys know that Bungie is helping out! I emailed them my university contact email yesterday. They emailed me back this morning and have been able to fix the problem with the internet at my university so now I am able to play destiny! Keep faith guys! Bungie will help!

Unversity at Buffalo update:Here is an email from UB's network admin: Good morning [REDACTED], To update you on the issue where we yet stand, we have not been able to resolve the problem based on the information at hand. We are pending an official solution from our equipment vendors which will enable the game to be played, without compromise in our network's security, quality, and availability. We've reached to our vendor in hopes that a solution will become available, and I've written Bungie to see if they've been working with our equipment vendor, or could provide us with more information on the sitatuion. An official communication regarding the status of this game will be released soon, but, in the meanwhile, I wanted to let you know that we continue to monitor the situation for any action we can take to resolve the issue. i am not confirming anything yet guys but i have been able to play for about an hour straight here at U at Buffalo :) let me know if you guys can play too!

[u]UPDATE FOR TEMPLE STUDENTS:[/u] The chief security info officer sent me an email saying that our security vendor will be sending an update to their system tomorrow. So fingers are crossed that tomorrow we will be able to finally play this game.

It worked for about a day with me then started giving me the marionberry code again :(

Florida International University students: have those of you that have spoken to IT seen that, for some reason, they're setting up a network basically just for consoles, rather than applying the patch?

[u]Temple Update 2[/u]... and it's a doozy: So, as of the time of this post we are still not able to play Destiny. Though, it SEEMS that some progress in SOME parts of IT is being made. Going off of what is coming from various emails to IT and and chats it does seem that they have made contact with Bungie *confetti*. Again, Bungie, I know you're probably not reading this but in the off chance someone there is, PLEASE CONFIRM. Though, this is where things get hairy. From a couple of emails it seems that the patch has been received. Som stating that it will be administered as early as tomorrow *crosses fingers*. This is especially noteworthy because the head chief of security himself sent such an email. So why is this a doozy you may ask? Because I randomly got a chance to talk with a manager over at the help desk... It was, a less than thrilling experience to say the least. He seemed a bit confused over the whole situation after I had explained it and the various of emails his team had sent over the past week. It almost seemed like I knew a bit more about Temple's network than he did as I had to (quite a few times actually now that I think back) finish his sentences and remind him of terms. He also seemed very hesitant in his wording as he kept using phrases like "What I was told" and "At this given moment". From what I did gather (besides people in this department being completely incompetent) is that they believe that the request from Bungie was denied and that Destiny would not be playable here. To be completely frank, I say we wait a day before we jump to conclusions here as the head chief himself did say the patch would be in the system by tomorrow. Also, after talking with various professors and people in other similar departments, it seems as though even they don't think are help desk is... very helpful to say the least. So, tomorrow is going to really be a make or break for this situation at Temple. Please remember that if you can't get on by the end of the day we are meeting on Friday at 5:30 in front of the tech center to get this ironed out. Best wishes everyone.
