In the desolate lands of Canada... or at least places that don't have hard wired high speed... you can get a mobile network stick and a compatible router through mobile providers... assuming you have good cell service at home. Check it out
My buddy has one and we played Halo 4 together with it. I also played at his house a few time and I didn't notice a huge difference between his service and my high speed cable internet

Oh god, we had that at work it was so expensive. If you go that route make sure you have a friend in town to take your console to to do your updates
