Also the fact that the servers start when the game comes out means that everyone will start out on an even playing field. There won't be that guy who has the best gear and a high rank. Players start at the same time.
While I agree with most that you said, what I quoted is completely false. The game get released on 9/9 so that means that people that live closer to the international date line will get the game close to 1 day before others, so if the servers open at the international date line as well that means they will have had 1 day to play before everyone else. Also if you bought the digital pre-order, depending on where you live you will have to wait for your provider to release the digital licence.
The fact of having to wait for the licence for the digital pre-order is cool but people playing close to 1 day before the rest of the world even gets there copy of the game is just wrong.

I understand that part people closer to the international date line get to play earlier than others, but there are some variables you have to consider. 1. They get it at midnight, and unless they pull an all nighter, they'll have about a couple hours to play before they go to bed. 2. It's not like many of them are going to be matched up with you. The matchmaking services do a good job of pairing people based on language and proximity. 3. In the block that you quoted from me, I state that people will not have the best gear and a high rank. This is true. 4. Within a week of Destiny's release, the few hours that others had with the game before we got it won't matter at all. Before you know it, you'll have more playtime than a lot of people from Australia. 5. I was trying to get across that all people relatively start out on an even playing field. Had it not been for the always-online feature, people would have been playing 2 weeks before the game comes out. 1 day at the most compared to 2 weeks is nothing.

just do the digital download and you can play the second the servers go up.
