WHAT!? You mean to tell me I can't just scream for help into my mic while my 3-man fireteam is (highly improbably) pinned down, and some random cool edgy guy a half mile away spawns and bails me out by taking out all the baddies with his comedic 3-ninjas-esque combat style? Poppycock, I say! Poppycock!

The ad is obviously hyperbole, I get what you're saying. But the last part you have to admit it is implying you can just talk to players near you.

The thing is, the whole ad is a joke. It has the same tone from start to finish. Just because people really want proxy chat, they're claiming the ad teases or implies this. You can't just say that it implies prox chat but the rest is obviously a gag. You either have to take the whole thing seriously, or none of it.

To answer your question....no. I'm not taking it literally but I do recognize the fact that they are using the prospect of the idea of proximity chat for benefit when they tell us its toxic. That's fine but then don't go making commercials showing how "it's cool". Just have to realize this will be a really quiet mmofps game. Because I'll be damned if I have to keep on taking time to accept chats just to tell people I do or don't want to party at that given time

the commercial is just to get people to buy the game, and just become the guardians in the commercial are talking to each other doesn't mean its implying proximity chat, its your fault for assuming things not theirs.
