Ppl with bad kdr's hate the stat. While yes the stat is not the end all be all to player skill it is a component. If you cannot kill more times then you die you are useless to your team. I mean at least a 1.01 kdr.

  • Again the exact attitude I am hoping to avoid. Example. 2 players. 1 player goes 10 and 1. Kdr of 10. In crucible scored 10000 points. 2 player goes 5 and 10. Kdr of .5. However in crucible scored 10000 points. Player 1 was a lone wolf. Running around focused only on kills. Ignored working as a team to make sure their kdr was a high a possible. Player 2 was an objective player. This person focused on taking and holding control points. This made the player more "visible" to the enemy team. As the game would announce when a control point was taken. So this players kdr suffered as a result of the enemy team knowing when and where this player was taking the objectives. Player 2 was also able to help the team consistently hold 2 objectives. Where by helping the team overall. As you know the bases were points modifiers. If you look at only kdr So in your world player 1 was a great help to their team. Player one had a high kdr and was focused only on it. Player 2 is "worthless" to their team. They had a kdr well below 1. So you would consider that person a "scrub" If you noticed however I said they both scored 10000 points. So in my system you can not pass judgment on player 2 only the kdr stat. All you would know is player 1 and 2 helped scored an equal amount of points. So in my opinion a kdr centered points system fundamentally changes the way people play. It promotes individual play at the cost of the team. I mean why go out there to take an objective? I'm not gonna go on flag b I might get killed. It will hurt my kdr. I'm not gonna go pick up the bomb I might die. Etc. In a points system both players were rewarded for their play styles. Both players helped their team win. I'm in no way saying that a to achieve a high kdr you need to be a lone wolf non team player. Only that when you focus on an individual stat that is typically how you will play.

  • Player one was a help to his team. If your killing the enemy team player two can cap points. Just cuz you suck doesnt mean us that dont, dont play the objective

  • But again your proving my point again "Just cause you suck" Spoken by a person in the confines of a kdr system. I want both play styles rewarded. A kill oriented player. And objective player. In a kdr system that won't happen. I've seen it 100000 times. Join an objective game. I'll use domination. The losing team would be down 100 points. But still no one would go near the flags. They were too afraid they might alert the enemy team to their location. They would rather lose the game than hurt their precious kdr.

  • Spoken by a person with a 2.5 kdr, 1,200 score per minute and over 500 skill level in bf4. I get kills and play the objective. Cuz you suck and cant get kills doesnt mean your an "objective player"

Lol ok. I guess we will have to agree to disagree. But again thank you for bringing to this post the exact kind of attitude I'm trying to get rid of.

  • Well im trying to get rid of the attitude that going 2-20 makes you an "objective" player. I like excelling in all facets of my game. Not just being a bullet sponge for the enemy team

If someone was a simple bullet sponge how would they be able to score the amount of points needed to be equal with a high kdr person? If your a bullet sponge in a score based system you will still score poor. I'm not stating someone just throwing their body at stuff is an "objective" player. I'm simply stating that it is possible to contribute to a team while while not always having the best kdr. It's also possible to have an amazing kdr but completely ignore anything resembling team work.

  • And its possible to have a great kdr while working with your team and capping all the points. Try it sometime its great

Yes that is also correct. Again the whole point of my post was to better promote team play. If you are a more objective player maybe a high kdr person. Maybe both. I feel all should be rewarded for how they play. As it is now when you open the app your kdr is plastered all over everything. So that is what people will go for. Even if it is outside their comfort zone. Maybe you as an individual are the most amazing player in your team. However there are still 5 other people playing with you. Perhaps they have not been blessed with the same ability for video game shooters as you.

  • Practice my friend. Kdr is just as important as flag captures you should do well in all facets not just one. If your gonna remove kdr then remove winning and losing as well. Then we can just play the game for fun

I guess my observation was most gamers care little for winning as long as their kdr was high. Our clan played domination game mode in the call of duty series. 95% of the time people joined domination to pump up their kdr. You could more easily control spawn points as you had a good idea of where the spawns would be. I can not tell you how many times I was shot from my spawn by players who only had one flag. At the end of the match we would win 200 to 75 but the other team would be spouting off their kdr in the lobby afterword. I only cared for winning. I cared very little for kdr. I also cared about having fun. So as long as our team was winning I would mess around. Sometimes I would run a riot shied all game. Other times I would walk backward to see how far I could get before I got shot. Other times I just laid on the ground to see if anyone would just run by me. Then after beating the other team 200 to 75 I was garbage cause I went negative. I would point out my win loss ratio was 6.3 but nope I still sucked. I learned it was more important to people to have a high kdr than win a game. That is what I'm trying to prevent. So yes maybe you as an individual place value in a high kdr as well as objective play. To me at the end of the day if I won who cares how I did it. Just because one stat said I went negative I'm garbage? I was our teams designated shoot stuff down guy. If there was a spy plane or anything in the air I shot it down. That is where most of my deaths always came while standing and locking on. It didn't matter where in our spawn or out in the open. I always got shot. So my kdr suffered for the good of the team. That to me is the flaw of kdr. It's an individual stat in a team game. It's not team kdr. It's one individual kdr on a team. So as an individual on a team it's very easy to play as an individual. As that is how you will be rewarded in the end.

  • That is just wrong. Its matter of gamemode and playstyle. A deffence player doesnt get low heals pickups bur only figthing agains full restored teams. Most of the time they will have negativ states but also they will be important to the team because they buy time for the offence to come back and pick the low life players he left.
