For whichever various reason they disagree/dislike and will voice that anytime it's brought up. People being open/vocal with their beliefs in general are going to get heat from another person of a different belief or even the same belief, even if they aren't trying to convert anyone Example: Looking for Christian gamers threads, Someone is going to say'Why does it matter what they believe in" "why bring that up" others may get hostile about it. ...yep, then Boom,religious debate. Certain Religions/Groups can trigger certain responses from certain people. So when it comes up people react, weather because it seems illogical,they don't agree with it, or because something bad happened related to said region/group. More than often,especially on the internet, people aren't always pleasant with their opposing reply. I.E threads on Feminism & Religion...more than half the replays seem facetious,so from that view it might seem like.. "what did they do?" Is it right to react facetiously about it? No. Should group/belief X be Generalized & stereotyped ? No. Does that mean ALL members of group/belief X are innocent? No Should we halt our Beliefs/Ideals?No Should we keep our beliefs/Ideals out of certain things? Yea..

4 RepliesPersonally, I've got strong friends with many differenf beliefs and I myself am an atheist. I hate racists, homophobes etc, and think everyones religion should be respected and not forced on others or affect them if not willingly. I see religion like a dick; I don't care if you have one and a majority of people do. But you shouldn't show it off in public and randomly shove it down people's throats

People tend to generalise us, if one Christian says something about someone, i.e sexuality, then they get the whole of Christianity stuffed. It's always been the same.

It's because they're the biggest religious group in the world, that has had an immeasurably massive effect on society. Any group that size is going to get "picked on" a lot. There's so much to go for, it's impossible for there to not be a lot of criticism about it. Unless you're a member of an isolated tribe that hasn't been contacted, then your world has been affected by Christianity (even if you're not a Christian).

They're a very large group of people, many of whom go out of their way to make asses of themselves. I'd be surprised if they were never made fun of.

3 RepliesWhenever i see someone bring up religion it's usually dissed because it's irrelevant to the topic. The big thread i saw was from people looking for christians to play with, and while that sounds fine it is really akin to saying that ou want to play with people that only have your world view, or are only your race. Christians also have a reputation for dismissivness and ignorance, but the real problem is ignorant arogant people because Christianity has done a lot of good for man kind. Charity is a big part of Christianity and for every idiotic Christian there are many well meaning christians. But really i don't think this forum is any place for pushing your beliefs on others, even if it's for your immortal soul, because it's not going to do any good. And at the same time there is no reason to attack someone and what comforts them as long as they're not hurting anyone , so just tell them off in a respectful way

What'd I'd like for you to keep in mind is there are several different types of Christians. If you say straight up Christians instead of any of those specific types, your talking about enough people to fill up every square foot in the continental united states.
