I imagine support classes will end up making up a majority of the typical raid teams. Bosses simply won't be much bothered by offensive supers no matter the level.

Ya I agree but I do think that there will be a lot of waves of smaller minions that will need to be taken care of very quickly and this will be the reason for offensive supers. But yes defensive supers will be a requirement for fights and offensive supers will just be a help not a necessity.

With the defenders ability to mass produce orbs of light with numerous enemies attacking I don't imagine more than one or two offensive subclasses being needed

Plus the main purpose of 3 of the supers in this game is to destroy hordes of enemies. And they also drop orbs of light so rotating supers will be important.

You don't bet on what you think, you bet on what you know.

Edited by Amusekus: 8/23/2014 7:14:17 AMI know there are six sub classes and there are six man raids, would I be wrong to think Bungie creates fights around assuming there are one of each class. And if you think about how many orbs of light will drop, Defenders ability shouldn't take long to recharge.

Edited by Meatonyourbuns: 8/23/2014 3:22:05 PMTheir will always be the classes that are looked down on. So an even six is pretty unlikely. Oh and btw Defenders can't pick up their own orbs bud, So at least two are required; and that's assuming no one else feeds on them, either intentionally or unintentionally. But you're also neglecting the fact that people can change class mid raid, so no one is really too heavily committed to the class they start the raid as

All class supers drop orbs of light, not just defenders. And most have a trait that allows them to drop extra if they equip it. So that is why I talk about rotation. Even Bungie in one of their videos makes it sound this way. And I do agree that people won't bring all six, just saying that most fights will be based of having that rounded ground. Every subclass has something to bring to the table, it's just using common sense and understanding the purpose of their abilities. But yeah I already see hate towards certain subclasses for PvE. And as far as changing classes mid raid, has that been confirmed. I mean most likely I would assume so you are right.

Defenders super produces orbs when it absorbs damage. I imagine that with a full wave firing on you, you can get some ridiculous orb numbers, in addition to the raw utility of having your entire group protected. A developer referenced changing subclass mid raid to deal with an elemental damage weakness.

Ahh okay do you know the link? Not that I don't believe you would just like to check out the whole conversation. If you have to dig it up don't waste your time.

I saw it in a link on a post in the destiny forum. It details the raids and endgame content. It's probably been pushed down to hell by now though. Anyways, good talk

Defender can buff their ward of dawn even further, there is an exotic helm "helm of saint 14" which blinds enemies which enter ward of dawn, combine that with suppressor grenades and I begin to feel sorry for enemies.

Exotics are gonna make things get a little crazy

Good point
