I'd be careful with your un-objective support, and your claims of Bungie claims.
Bungie is a business, and as such they will make sure they bend the truth so that the most amount of profit can be made (this should not reflect the mentality of the employees that work there, it is merely the marketing aspect of any business that requires large amounts of patrons in order to make profit).
Don't ever forget Peter Molyneux and the false claims of the Fable series.

If I had a dime for every time a developer used words like massive, grand scale, or some other buzz word to describe and sell their game I'd be a very rich man. I have wised up to the game a long time ago but it blows my mind how so many people on these forums blindly defend Bungie as if it is impossible for them to do anything wrong.

Dude, but Fable changed the world. So did Fable 2... and Fable 3... The world now is not even recognizable compared to how it was before these life changing games released.
-
You're right! The world isn't so "Black & White" as it used to be.
-
Nice one. Black & White was probably his best game.
-
It's funny, but I don't think he hyped that game up. #2 I thought he did, but it's been so long I wouldn't know :)
-
I remember vividly blck and white being hyped beyond all belief. It was also going to release on the dreamcast. His habit of way overhyping and promising stuff that wasnt in the game was the same with fable.
-
That's what I thought. I still have Black and White 2, but I forgot the fact-check comparison :)

This isn't Peter Molyneux and this isn't Fable. I think Halo and Bungie already have a much better pedigree than that. No need to base them off of that. It's okay to be optimistic. If you choose to lean more towards pessimism or realism that's up to you. But optimism has it's place in the world too.

I know it's not him, but it would be foolish to pretend he was unique in the industry. It's okay to be optimistic about something, but when you defend with optimism, you tread on the dangerous ground of fanaticism. The thing with Pete and Fable was that they made claims they couldn't keep, but the fans were more than happy to fantasize out the wazoo about the potential of the claims. What the OP is doing is what I wanted to remind people of, and that is the optimism spawned by un-objective reasoning. Excitement for the game is something we can all share, but when you defend someone that doesn't need defending at this point, you look like a fool.
