WHY? No private matches?

No competitive destiny multiplayer. The only thing there will be is bare bones matchmaking in an almost complete TDM filled system? Machinimas, Playing with other clans, Messing around and playing silly games like michael meyers or just playing against freinds in general. All gone. A staple of gaming. Not just the FPS genre. And after all of the time that bungie had praised their community for making machinimas, for making crazy games, for doing funny and entertaining stuff with their game. They end up just removing that option entirely for no reason. Oh well. Figured i'd share my thoughts. Here comes the storm of people telling me to go back to Call of Duty for wanting private matches. Edit: Just noticed there are already threads on this... Edit: Edit: Video evidence: https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=4tqNJCilKBA Skip to 1 hour and 15 minutes. Deej- Community manager and bungie employee confirms.

  • Me and one of my halo friends I know in real life got hyped about destiny like a year ago. After we watched some of the alpha gameplay, we were convinced that this game would be in the MLG/competitive game scene, so we practiced shooting and communication by playing halo for months. We wanted to go to local tournaments, try to have a high ranking in the leaderboards, and practice in private matches in Destiny and what not. But now that he's heard there will be no private matches, and probably no ranking/leaderboard, he says he's not going to be focusing his time on Destiny when it comes out.
