1. You are dealing with a beta in which millions of players played, and which there were probably hundreds of millions of engagements. You are GOING to get some freak occurrences with those kinds of numbers.
2. You are dealing with a server-based game that is very latency sensitive. So what gets depicted---in terms of sequence of events---on the screen may be very different from what the server "saw" in calculatin the outcome.

I understand what your saying in regards to the chance of numerous freak occurences, as well as the validity of latency which was obviously apparent in the games...but you have to notice that the knife isn't hitting where they formerly were or were going...its curving into where they currently are... Watching the above video at the 00:16 second mark you can see the Drek obviously stands still for at least 1.5-2 seconds...more than enough time for even latency to align where the computer should be, and you see the drek makes no intention to move as he does a taunting animation...then the knife is thrown and it curves "into" the dreks hit-box and connects a headshot... This isn't latency...its in-game mechanics...but nonethelss I'm not to worried about it as it is their special melee and to some degree should have an OP element...I just wanted to post this initially to make people aware and to see if this was an intended game mechanic by bungie which at this point I believe it is...

No way to tell that without diving DEEP into the game's code....and nowing how the servers interact with how your console depicts things on screen.

I concur, same thing happens in BF4 all the time. I can't count all the times in Battlefield where i was sniped after I had already ducked behind cover. Latency is a huge issue with modern day shooters

Same thing happens in Titanfall. Depending on latency, you can get shot dead before the guy who kills you even shows up on your screen, or killed by explosions after you've ducked into cover. At the end of the day----especially in a montage like he's looking at---just understand where they come from....and get a good laugh out of them. If its the montage I'm thinking of...I LOVE the one on First Light where the guy is trying to get a kill on a guardian with every weapon in his arsenal...and just keeps missing because the guy's jumping all over the place, running along roofs, etc... ...and JUST when it seems he's going to get away, the guy throws his knife at him in frustration...and takes him out!. When I saw that, I fell off the couch I was laughing so hard.

It was the montage above...and I'm not really worried nor asking for a nerf...just pointing it out and looking for clarification...and its not latency I can assure u...but nonetheless its in the game and so I'll just learn to work around it...
