You think no split screen, private lobbies forge AND trading is a good thing? I've seen some drones in my time but you could be up there, all of these things add to the game positively in every way even if you your self opted to not use them. I can maybe see a case for split screen since it's not used to the degree that it once was but everything else would improve upon the games longevity immensely. And no trading in a game that features raids and rare loot is ridiculous, so say I want a certain hand cannon and my friend wants a certain auto rifle and oh what luck after we finish a raid we each get one, but he has the hand cannon and I the auto rifle should be pretty straight forward as to what happens next right? Well not in destiny, scrap it and keep grinding you monkey apparently trading is just too complex.

  • Never said trading was complex. It's actually quite simple. As was the point I made. Just said that I don't want it and I will earn my own gear.

  • Just because you don't want it doesn't mean it's exclusion is a good thing, having it and not using it is easy. Wanting it and not having it is a lot harder to get around to say the least.

  • They could implement a half way house. In SWTOR for instance you can trade items between party members after a flashpoint is completed for an hour or until party is disbanded. That way you would have the ability to trade with fire team members after the strike and not have the danger of a black market for trading.

  • No trading is good. Earn your own shit.

  • Trading an item for item is earning it, you earned something someone sees as equal or greater value to the item you wish to trade for. Try thinking a little before typing, I find it helps a lot.

  • Trading is absolutely not earning it. What's to stop someone from just repeating a raid over and over to hand out the super rare loot to all their friends?

  • That by definition isn't trading, that's giving a gift. Step up your argument or settle down.

  • But that's what you get when you include a trading system.

  • Trading has a tendency to create a black market system where people can buy & sell gear and Bungie is trying to avoid this happening (Diablo 3 is a good example)

  • Diablo 3 was built around that system though, they should just throw an option in there to bring up a trade window with fire team members or something. The looting is even more sparse than borderlands and that game didn't develop some sort of black market, bungie are just leaving out features that would actually make the game more social. They market it as such and you can't even communicate with other people you meet as you wander.

  • I would reckon that will change fast. I don't see that continuing after all the feedback they got from the Beta. Trading within fireteams sounds interesting. Only trading with people that you are queued with sounds great until you think that you don't 100% what you're getting from engrams until you take them to the vendor. I would still love to trade engrams.

  • I hope it does, being able to talk to people you meet as you explore will lead to a lot of neat moments. As for not knowing what you would get, I would envision it more as a trade window where you both put up an item to trade and then both parties can accept or decline . Of course trading something for an engram would be a big risk but it would be up to the player if they want to take it.
