What bothers me is you assume that Destiny which is coop focused would be dead without private matches.

I don't think the game will die without it but it would definitely live a lot longer. Every game loses hype and play value after a while, competitions such as ladders and tournaments give players more to do.

I actually agree with that it just bothers me when people act like Destiny will fail if they don't add private matches at launch. Honestly I think it will be like titan fall where they just add it in an update later.

I think this just applies to the players who are only interested in PVP, which may be a decent amount since game are more multiplayer focused now... but even still they are just speaking from their own viewpoint.

There's more PvE content, sure, but PvP important also drives incentive to play that. Think about when you get a new exotic armor piece, I don't think you are happy to get it so that you can use it against AI in PvE. You want to use it in PvP. But gosh, what a snore that will be without Private matches for example. I have alot more examples (believe me) but I'm not repeating myself to everyone under the sun to please read other replies

I actually would test it in pve since any gear you acquire is completely useless in standard pvp due to level advantages being disabled.
