I'm on a phone so I can't link easily. I believe it was on Youtube under Playstationaccess with Hollie Bennett getting an Interview with the lead dev for Hello Games. He also goes into detail on various NMS 2014 Gamescon interviews explaining the algorithms used to get the 5 billion year mark on NMS's mechanics. Plus IGN has an article so it should be easy to gnash your teeth and go bah humbug with a little Internet savy if so inclined to do so.

I won't hold your hand by providing a link. You want knowledge, search for yourself. The information I posted is legitimate.
