They may not gather every Sunday/Saturday/etc.. But there are often meetings of atheists, for atheists for the express purpose of discussing atheism. http://www.atheists.org/convention2014 For example. Here is a larger list of regularly scheduled conferences http://www.weareatheism.com/events/ I do suppose "usually gather" is open to interpretation as to how often that exactly means. Regardless, though, I still consider atheism a religion as it meets the requirements. It is a belief system which deals specifically with a deity/deities and the afterlife.

I wasn't aware that car owners and bakers make specific statements concerning their beliefs on supreme beings, deities, etc which apply to their group.
