How do you know that you get those special banners? Can I check it from somewhere?

Well... I think that i got them both, I'll see that for sure in September. It was 12pm to 2am in here when the other happened and i played whole night from 10pm to 9am next day, so... I think i got them.

According to Bungie, as long as you were logged-in and doing something during the time frame, the servers logged you and you got the special one. You just had to have your boots on the ground, doing something at that time. I was specifically on the Moon at the time driving a Pike.
