Ew, all the people mentioning LG as if it's a good choice. I would just save up more money and buy something better.

Snobbery with tech is just silly. LG shed their shoddy reputation a few years back and are fast becoming a respected manufacturer. Personally I have two Panasonic plasma sets and a Samsung, but I would seriously consider an LG when I'm next upgrading.

I tried 3 different LG TV's, all of them had their issues. I prefer Sony.

how long ago was that?

Last one I had was purchased last year brand new.

Well personally I highly rate the LG 47LM670T and the newer LG 55UB950V is pretty damn impressive as well.

Doesn't the LG 47LM670T have trouble when it comes to motion blur and quality drop with quick moving images? I'll look into 4k TV's when they aren't horribly overpriced.

Edited by Keeyop: 8/11/2014 10:05:37 PMIt does have very low tone smearing, but only on a par with other TV's in the same bracket. Its more of a film screen display than a gaming screen, but then I'm one of those sad people that uses a different TV for gaming than watching movies.

If you have the money to do that, why not? Would love to have 2 different TV's with two different purposes. Main reason I'm buying a new Sony TV next month is because I really need a better gaming TV with all around quality picture to function as both.

Sony do make some awesome TV's, currently I'm using a Panasonic P50GT60 as the gaming screen, and my Samsung for everyday use, although I'm thinking of upgrading the samsung, but I'll probably put it off until next years models roll out. I really like the Sony KD-65X9005B, but I'm not a fan of the oversized speakers.

Edited by Ewoktapus: 8/11/2014 10:31:11 PMSamsungs have gotten a lot better when it comes to quality. How do you like gaming on that Panasonic? Unfortunately a lot of the nicer TVs need sound bars to sound good. The TV I plan to buy next month is this model Sony KDL 50W800B. Will mainly be used for gaming and watching sports though.

Its awesome for gaming, I have it hooked to a Denon 3313 receiver and a set of Dyneaudio speakers, so can't comment on the sound quality of the set, but its picture quality is off the charts epic.
