Why doesn't God stop the pain? Make life comfortable?

The word of God says "All things work together for the good of those who love God and are called according to His purpose." Pain is the consequence of original sin, it has become a part of our temporary life on earth, sin is what has separated us from God and torn our world apart. However God sovereignly works many wonders with the pain we go through. We are made strong through pain, testimonies are forged through struggle and trial, and most importantly we are drawn to God by suffering, drawn to depend on God for help that sometimes no one else can give, it gives us opportunities to exercise Faith, patience, etc and grow spiritually. In a fallen world, we are drawn to the hope of eternity, drawn to seek answers, answers that only our creator can give. It is when we seek God that we can have an encounter with Him. And encountering God, is to encounter Truth, Life and Hope. As individuals who live and die, our true purpose and hope is found in God. God revealed himself to us in the person Jesus Christ, who is the Son of God, born of a virgin. God sent His son into the world to show us the True Way to heaven, to redeem us from sin, and to reunite us to God through His sacrifice, so that whoever believes in Jesus can be born again and have eternal life, apart from God there is no hope after this life. Pain comes and goes but it causes us to cling even more to our Maker, if we have a relationship with Him. God will one day do away with sin, and death and every evil doer. There will be a new heaven and a new earth where there will be no more pain. This is our Hope, found in Jesus Christ, The Lord.

3 RepliesIn my opinion, God can only effect the before and after of an event. So he can set things up as best he can so that they don't go to shit, but if they do, he can't change anything. He can, however, give the victims of said event the power to recover.

I am glad these people have grasped onto something that makes them hopeful and happy. I realize its not for everyone but it is still nice to see people in these mind frames where reflection and peace is in the forefront.

4 RepliesSo, if God allows or promotes mass murder in order to then comfort or turn someone towards him, what the hell does that mean about the sanctity of life? If he can put a well loved teen through a near death experience and cause so much damage just to get him to play a -blam!-ing guitar, what does that say about those who abort pregnancies as they are unable to support a child? It seems to justify it in my opinion.
