What Destiny is, and what it is not

What Destiny is... The next franchise from legendary game studios Bungie and Activison. The plan is for multiple sequels totaling a 10 year franchise life cycle. With expansions, updates, and DLC thrown in between game releases. An action, shared world FPS with some mmorpg elements thrown in. Notice just elements. Varied, no matter what type of gamer you think you are there is something for you in Destiny. Balanced pvp go to the Crucible. Wanna show off all your hard work and perks in pvp check out the Iron Banner. Want to dive head first into a solo gameplay story driven campaign. That's here for you also. Want to so hard end game content with friends? Check out nightfalls and raids. Want to explore exotic locations in our galaxy? The explore modes allow you to do that. Awesome. Enough said. Promising, this game is the game all gamers have waited for. All the elements we enjoy from all the games we enjoy molded into one beautiful product. Can't wait for Sep 9. Beautiful. Honestly the game looks stunning, even in the alpha and beta tests you can tell how much work was into making the environment and skybox look awesome. And the soundtrack is epic, it just adds to the look of the game. Addictive, look at all the posts. People are getting bored with other games now that they've had a taste of Destiny's forbidden fruit. What Destiny isn't.. Halo, the similarities are there it is a sci-fi shooter made by the same people after all, but the story, progression, character customization, raids and co-op game modes set it apart immediately. MMO, it has some elements (raids, strikes, nightfalls all taken from traditional mmorpgs) you are obviously online with other people. However, never in the tower did I see so many people that I was lagging like most games in the social hubs. Out in the wild did I ever run into too many people that I was unable to farm, or kill enough enemies. That's because under the hood there's matchmaking going on separating players to not bog things down and hopefully get you to interact with the players you do run For Whiners. Bungie has a vision for this game. And they are going to stick to their vision and try to produce the best game possible and create the best community possible. Just be patient for now and wait until launch before we try rewriting game code. I hope this helps some people see what this game is and what it is not. My goal is to help my community in any form I can. I have had success on other game forums and I hope to do so here. I try to be as informed as I can. See you in the wild.
